This is an old fashioned city park. There are 2 playgrounds (one for toddlers, one for older kids), a skating rink where kids practice skating and oldster practice tai-chi, and a public swimming center with 2 pools (one is a very large wading pool for the young kids, the other is a lap pool with one end for diving). Weekdays the larger swimming pool is used for lessons, lap swim, and masters.swimming. The rest of the park has large lawns you can picnic in (some spots must be reserved and have tables and barbeque be pits, while the rest is open space). It is adjacent to the Junior Museum (being rebuilt, but opening next spring or summer of 2020), the Children's Theatre, the adult theatre (Theatre Works), and a large community center. There is also a Girl Scout house and, at the community center, an ampetheater for the Boy Scouts. It is lovely.
