This is an old fashioned city park. There are 2 playgrounds (one for toddlers, one for older kids), a skating rink where kids practice skating and oldster practice tai-chi, and a public swimming center with 2 pools (one is a very large wading pool for the young kids, the other is a lap pool with one end for diving). Weekdays the larger swimming pool is used for lessons, lap swim, and masters.swimming. The rest of the park has large lawns you can picnic in (some spots must be reserved and have tables and barbeque be pits, while the rest is open space). It is adjacent to the Junior Museum (being rebuilt, but opening next spring or summer of 2020), the Children's Theatre, the adult theatre (Theatre Works), and a large community center. Read moreThe park is nice and normally pretty clean. The bathrooms are not amazing.. Sometimes they are pretty gross and far from the playground. The pool was wonderful.. Not too busy. The bad part was how little the lifeguards care about what's going on. There were kids with water guns spraying everyone, include my baby and toddler. When I asked the guard about this he said as long as they aren't bothering anyone then the water guns are allowed. Read moreLove this park! Just look at that slide! :) Very clean and well kept! Tennis courts and bathrooms nearby. Lots of open grass outside of the fenced park. Great for picnics or sports/outdoor activities on the grass. Cool/new/modern equipment for the kiddos. The tower that the big slide is attached to is big enough for adults to go up if child(ren) needs assistance. Love that they integrated some workout equipment like an elliptical strider, stationary cycling bike, etc. Our fav park...
