Extremely expensive and has class times mainly during the daytime, even with scholarship from city. (For example, Sunnyvale's city-run Wilson Park ceramics charges way less and allows you to pay per drop-in). As a result, the space is extremely homogeneous--mainly older white women that don't need to work. Leia (not sure how to spell her name), one of the volunteers, makes me uncomfortable--she is racist and has confused me for other Asian students MULTIPLE times, even though I was there for TWO semesters and dropped in multiple times a week. Read moreAlways attend the Palo Alto Clay & Glass show! Juried artists, so superb pieces, and always end up buying a unique item or gift. Safly, my favorite porcelain potter, Kimi Masui from the Berkeley Potters Guild was not in attendance this year d/t a hand injury, but her equally talented colleague Itsuko Zenitani was there (we have several of her pieces), so picked up this lovely bowl as a gift for my brother. Also picked up two more Spengler coffee mugs....

Read moreLove this place. Makes art incredibly accessible. The gallery is small, so easy to take in for an afternoon outing. Lots of parking. Really well-curated and thoughtful exhibits. I've been here with my son's elementary school class (k and 1st grade) for the last two years, and the kids always love it as well as the adults. A really shining spot for engaged, public art.
