Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto — Attraction in Palo Alto

This is where I landed, 20 years ago, on my search for a spiritual home here in Silicon Valley. The non-judgmental, supportive atmosphere permeates everything. Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, pagans, atheists...all of us come together each week to further our own individual spiritual path while nurturing others as they walk their own. I did not know I was a UU until I came here, and I'm forever thankful to have learned that about myself.

One of my main interests in that original journey was to build a community where we could raise children, one that would be in keeping with our values. I have twin teens who have grown up in this church, and their depth of compassion and self reflection stems in large part from our time here.

Great ministry working to make positive change in the world. This was a workshop on legislation in CA that is striving to get money out of politics where it doesn't belong.

Wealthy interests are controlling our country and not to the benefit of those who aren't wealthy. Ever since the shocking Supreme Court decision in the Citizens United case, wealthy interests spend millions to influence outcomes of elections and ballot measures to favor the rich. The Middle and Poor classes are struggling to survive as a result.

The other legislation is to ensure the voting process is transparent and not affected by voting equipment that can be corrupted. Open Source systems...
