Finally made it to the winery yesterday. It exceeded all of my expectations. An immersive experience. From the moment we entered, we were greeted and after inquiring were given several options.
They have a lovely and massive gift area. They have treat counter. You can just go and get some treats and/or wine.
It is beautiful and welcoming. We went for a wine tasting and each purchased a charcuterie box. We had a few moments wait (very brief) for our bar tender to come greet us.
I could write a review on Timothy, Timmy, Tim alone. One of the most engaging and representatives of any company or product I’ve ever encountered. Being old enough to be his mama I could have kept him haha. He shared the history, of Duplin winery. He shared his experience as an employee. This young man loves his job. He spoke so endearingly of his fellow team mates, the facility the present and future options for guests. He meticulously explained each wine, their origin, the thought behind each flavor.
Along with our charcuterie they also provide some yummy crackers. He said what kind and this dip. So if you want to forego the additional cost of the charcuterie the crackers and dip are great to sample between the wines.
We never felt rushed. It was educational, delightful and conversational.
After our tasting was offered we were able to go get a glass of wine or wine slushie and continue to enjoy our time there.
We went outside to the bar area. A beautiful and comfortable atmosphere. We stayed on the outside porch area as it was a blustery day. There was live music. At just the right volume. Comfortable seating and we spied the really cool outside area if the weather would have been more ageeeable.
We now have plans to continue going to the winery on a more regular basis. You don’t have to do the wine tasting. You can order wine by the glass, wine by the flight. Whatever you prefer.
Their wines range 12.99 to 24.99. They are beautifully packaged. A lot of people by their wines by the case to take home. Affordable. Not available everywhere and unique.
Our wine tasting was 20. Added board was like 12. My total bill was 32 and some change. I did tip Timothy. He earned it. And also a couple of dollars for the delightful employees at the charcuterie and wine counter.
For the delightful afternoon, the experience and the delicious wines and treats, an extremely...
Read moreI have to give applause to some of the previous reviews, could not have said it better… this is truly what you get if a candy store had a baby with Cracker Barrel.
Upon arriving we were told these were primarily sweet, muscadine wine. I prefer earthy Sauvignon Blancs and oaky Cabernets, but often enjoy a dessert or moscato on occasion.
We had high hopes as our resort in Miramar highly recommended this for a 1hr long drive. Duplin Winery told us one thing for the resort discount, then changed their mind. They offered to still honor the discount that would require a couple more hoops to jump through. We said no it’s fine we don’t need the third tasting for our party of 3. We were then told we ABSOLUTELY CANNOT share our tasting with my 80 yo grandfather who was denied the discount…. Yea whatever, he can take a sip out of our glass.
Once you walk through Hobby Lobby’s clearance section you run into their food court (? Not sure what else to call it). I was caught off guard by the resemblance of Fat Daddy’s slushee machines and the “charcuterie board” still in the Boars Head container for $24 that can be purchased for $12 at your local grocer.
Our bartender, NOT sommelier, was doing a great job of selling the wine, but had no part in guiding us. You can’t blame him if you want to ask about tasting notes, it’s all artificial anyways! After this, barefoot pink moscato tastes expensive. As previous reviews have mentioned, you won’t necessarily have to worry about a hangover, just a sugar coma even from their conservative pours.
Frustrating that your free glass of wine MUST be from what you tasted. Was hoping to try one of their dry options.
If you like juice, come here or just stick to Welch’s - might be healthier
Oh, still waiting for our...
Read moreIn May 2025, I visited Duplin Winery in Panama City, Florida, and absolutely fell in love with their Sangria Red during a wine tasting. It was sweet, citrusy, and had a strong strawberry flavor exactly what I was looking for in a summer wine. In June, I ordered six bottles of Sangria Red online, excited to share it with friends and family.
Unfortunately, what I received was not what I ordered. Instead of Sangria Red, I was sent six bottles of a darker, grape-forward sangria that didn’t taste anything like the one I fell in love with at the winery. I double-checked my receipt and order confirmation, which clearly show that I ordered Sangria Red as advertised on Duplin’s website described as a citrusy strawberry wine.
When I reached out to customer service for clarity and support, the response was underwhelming and dismissive. I was told that the wine hadn’t changed just the label and that “grape flavor can vary year to year due to seasonal changes.” The representative also said, “I don’t have any wines that will taste more like strawberry than what you have currently.” This explanation did not acknowledge the clear discrepancy between what was advertised and what was delivered.
There was no real attempt to investigate the issue, offer an exchange, or provide a refund. Instead, I was left feeling dismissed and unsupported. I have pictures of both the wine I received and the one I tasted in Panama City—they are not the same.
As a customer, I expected better accountability and service especially from a brand I was excited to support. Sadly, I won’t be ordering from Duplin online again unless they’re willing to...
