After my friends and my experience here, it seems pretty clear that this place is a local country club used by a group of local old men and managed by their friends who sneer at the idea of young tourists playing there and "getting in their way".
To begin the story, a group of my friends and I, who are all 25-26 year old engineers, scheduled a tee time here. Upon our arrival it was immediately evident that our presence was unwanted. The two older gentlemen working the cash register were slightly rude while ringing us up and basically just blankly stared at us after we paid without giving us any further direction on what to do next or where the golf carts were. We walked out and found the golf carts. We loaded up into two of them and were waiting for our last friend before riding off when two older gentlemen chose to enter the golf cart directly behind me and my friend, despite having EVERY single other golf cart available. It seems that that particular golf cart is probably the one they use every week twice a week. While the older gentlemen were loading up their cart, the oldest gentlemen who was working the cash register began to approach me with a look of contempt and confusion. He proceeded to tell me that I needed to move because I was in the way of the two older gentlemen in the cart behind me, who were still in the process of loading their cart. I thought that was rude, but I remained respectful and moved the cart to the first hole.
We begin our tee about 6 minutes early at the two older gentlemen's request. Upon reaching our 4th guy's drive, one of the older guys that was working the register approached us and told us we needed to hurry up because we were "holding up the entire golf course." We were all confused as we were keeping a pretty normal pace coupled with the fact that we started 6 minutes early. We all remained respectful, agreed, and moved on.
We begin playing the "furthest ball" method in fear of being asked to speed up again. We had picked up the pace a lot, only putting a single time and continuing on without actually sinking our put in order to keep everything moving as fast as possible. At about the 3rd hole, the same older man comes riding up and this time with annoyance in his voice, told us we were 2 holes behind and we were moving entirely too slow. This was a blatant lie. We actually had to wait for the group in front of us to get off the green so we could start the drive. We told him this, but he disagreed and drove off.
Fast forward two holes. The old man comes riding up to us again. This time he is yelling at us "YOU CAN'T DRIVE ON THE FAIRWAY ON A PAR 3!" Being regular golfers, we had never heard of this rule before, anywhere. Nevertheless, we apologized and told him we didn't know that was a rule nor was there a sign indicating that was a rule. The old man replied "YEAH, WELL YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" and drove away. At this point it's obvious that these two older gentlemen were targeting us since we are a group of 25-26 year old's and the youngest people there by far.
Fast forward another few holes, we approached hole #7. This time the older gentlemen was hiding in the woods to the right of the fairway in his cart, just watching us. One of our guys sliced his drive and the ball ends up hitting the old man's golf cart. Not his smartest decision to park there. He was angered by this and picked up our friend's ball and began driving towards us again. As he approached our cart he threw the ball at it and began scolding us for "playing slow" and "holding up the entire golf course". Mind you, not only have we been playing furthest ball method and skipping puts, but we actually skipped an entire hole just to ensure he wouldn't harass us anymore. We were fed up with his harassment so we demanded a refund and he seemed confused. We received our refund and left. That was the poorest demonstration of how to run a business as I have ever seen. I have never been treated with such disrespect. I would advise people to stay away from this course. Those old men need...

During my recent visit to the Legacy Golf Course, I was delighted to discover a golfing destination that shows great potential for improvement. With notable capital investments evident throughout the property, the course offers a solid choice for golfers seeking an enjoyable round. In addition to its inviting atmosphere, I observed a couple of standout features that added to the overall experience.
One noteworthy aspect that stood out was the presence of a gentle breeze, even during hot days. This refreshing airflow can be attributed to the course's proximity to the beach, creating a pleasant and comfortable environment for golfers. Despite the potentially scorching temperatures, the subtle coastal breeze provided a welcome respite, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the round.
Legacy Golf Course's commitment to ongoing improvements was evident throughout the property. The well-maintained greens and fairways showcased the care and attention given to the course. These capital investments contribute to an appealing setting, where golfers can focus on their game while surrounded by picturesque landscapes.
While the majority of customers during my visit appeared to be tourists, creating a lively and diverse atmosphere, it's worth noting that this could occasionally lead to crowded tee times and slower play. However, I found that after 3:00 PM, there were often fewer golfers on the course, allowing for a more tranquil and relaxed experience. Golfers seeking a peaceful round can take advantage of the serene afternoons and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.
The driving range, although limited to irons only, offers an opportunity for golfers to refine their accuracy and iron shots. However, the absence of drivers might disappoint those looking to work on their long game. Additionally, the driving range's location, somewhat disconnected from the main course, could benefit from clearer signage or improved directions to enhance the overall experience for golfers.
On a positive note, starting in November, Legacy Golf Course has exciting plans to break ground on a new three-story driving range entertainment center. This forthcoming addition promises expanded practice facilities and increased entertainment options, further elevating the overall golfing experience for visitors.
In conclusion, Legacy Golf Course provides a promising golfing experience with visible investments in the property. The subtle coastal breeze, likely due to its proximity to the beach, adds a refreshing touch to the round, making it more enjoyable even during hot weather. With ongoing improvements, serene afternoons, and upcoming developments, Legacy Golf Course is poised to become an even more enticing destination for golf...
Read moreI’m here on vacation and wanted to golf around we found this golf course and were excited to play. But it was a terrible experience, to anyone who is doing the same I recommend saving your time and money and spending it else where. First off it was extremely hard to get a tee time with this course. Not only that but it was well over $300 for 3 of us to play (2 we’re playing and one was watching) and we had 2 carts. For this price I expected a very well kept course but it was not. Almost the entire course and greens had bare spots many times they were unavoidable and interfered with our ball. Within 10 mins of play time these problems occurred. Next the carts have pop up ads for the pro shop that go off almost every hole and play a loud chime through the golf cart (very distracting while driving and while playing) The course also allowed a party of 4 college aged students to get in front of us after we played the first 9 which we didn’t mind. We asked nicely to play through there party because they were playing slowly and we have 2 players they had 4 but to no success. The cart lady came to them for every other hole continuously slowing us down. The course truthfully, sucked I’ve played courses that were $20 a person and were better kept. If you go anywhere within 100 feet of a water hazard your cart locks up and you can’t do anything. When this happened we called the shop where we were directed to the pro shop about 4 times each time we were hung up on. Eventually another party helped us figure out you have to put the cart in reverse. This caused another issue where a staff member came out to cuss at us (mainly my grandfather because we were behind him) for being to close to a tee box (we had 2 tires on the grass 2 on the concrete plenty far from the tee box) when we asked why it was such a big deal that he had to come out and cuss at our grandfather (who is in his 70s) that are cart wasn’t even near the bare junky tee box he said he wasn’t going to argue and sped off. Overall it took us 4 1/2 hours to play 18 holes and we even stopped early and it still took us 4 1/2 hours. I used to walk 18 holes and it only took me 3 hours max. So this was a very unenjoyable experience and anyone who reads this I highly recommend to play at another course. ( I also shot a 82 on 17 holes par for the course is 76 so it was a good...
