Beware of coming here with a large party. Arrived for breakfast with a party of 8. They told us they could not seat us together. ok, understandable - they were busy. They took us to two tables that were right next to each other. We asked if we could just push the tables together. They told us no and seemed annoyed with us for even asking. We said ok and ate our breakfast. Once the bill came they had added a large party surcharge which i believe is just a forced 18-20% tip. Some in our party felt that was too much (service was not that good) and wanted to pay less. They were told no since we were a large party. We argued that they did not in any way treat us as a large party since we were sat separately, served separately, and billed separately. They disagreed. Our waitress called the manager. This is where things got bad in my opinion. Up to this point it was just a disagreement in services. Once the manager came though she made things much worse. Usually a manager will try and diffuse the situation. This manager did not come in with that goal. She seemed intent on "putting us in our place". She didn't listen to our complaints, talked over us, and used a sing song voice to convey how happy she was that she was not bending an inch in what she stated their policies were. And after walking away she was mocking us to the staff there. We ended up paying the surcharges as they demanded and left. I'm not sure the legality of a forced tip amount, but i am certain it's not morally or socially acceptable. To the Pancakery owners - we were excited about our breakfast there. Your marketing is good. Food was good. Your manager there though is not doing...
Read moreWe’ve always wanted to try this restaurant so today when I & coincidentally my 2 grown sons were off we decided today was that day . We arrived about a 1/4 to one & was greeted & seated immediately. Our server , Kade , on his way to another table greeted us to say he would be with us shortly & he was . So far so good . We immediately ordered drinks , which came in a timely manner : a sunrise mocktail, caramel frappe & an alcoholic drink. We didn’t know immediately what to order & asked for a minute ( think he came back in 2 exactly)so we needed another minute. We finally decided on a western omelette, breakfast platter , Belgium waffles & banana French toast . Everything came out in a timely manner & was delicious but what left a bad taste in our mouths was that after asking for syrup , after it was delivered, our server , Kade , came right back to drop off the check saying it was there when we were ready . Seriously ?!😐 Didn’t check if everything was good or if we needed anything else or separate checks for that matter just dismissively put it down & was down . We’re not & we’re not problematic or rude in any way . In fact we all work in the industry so we all have a high regard for service workers & knows what it’s like to be in his shoes . We were offended especially after we had to stop him to get boxes since he kept passing our table after dropping the check & didn’t seem to care if we needed anything, just looking to see if we had put the payment down. We’re not all the same & his $10 tip on a $78 tab could & should have been easily $22 bucks ( that’s how we make our money so we always...
Read moreThis is a pancake place. It was not fair of me to hope for more than it is, but alas... Daughter ordered the chocolate chip pancakes and they were huge and amazing, reasonable at $12 (understanding it is a tourist town). Hubby ordered the breakfast platter (2 eggs, meat, hash browns and toast or pancakes) which was good but mostly hash browns, also $12. The side of 'silver dollar' pancakes was the size of a sandwich plate. I ordered the eggs benedict and they were awful. Prepared hollandaise, and it was cold. The tiniest English muffins ever. My side of toast was one weak slice of sandwich white bread (could have been any grocery store brand), not even good homemade bread, and it was drizzled with a stream of what I know was melted butter flavored margarine. No jelly on the table. My breakfast was wildly overrpiced at $14.50, and I am very glad I didn't go for the $20 crabcake benedict. My daughter added a side of sausage to her pancakes as an after thought, and when the bill came two standard sausage links as a side was FIVE DOLLARS. I didn't ask for jelly, but I suspected there was an extra charge for it, as they charge extra for everything, even honey. There is a bar of sorts to make breakfasty drinks with alcohol, but I am not clear on the need for that, beyond mimosas. It feels very trashy to have alcohol pushed at every meal in every restaurant in PCB. If I return, and we probably wont, I would stick to the pancakes. They were good. Otherwise you have better breakfast options in the area for the same price. Ask Andy...
