Random search for hikes and saw this one. I parked at Georgia State parking lot and trail head, didn’t see any signs saying not to, and i didn’t get harassed for doing so. This trail is 7 miles to the left, so this Can easily be a half day event. I stayed for about an hour and a half. Ended up going for about an hour and a half and really enjoyed the time there. Beautiful trail, paved and ten feet wide. The stretch i walked takes you close to south river, but you don’t really see it too much. That and the fact that this trail can leave you quite exposed to the sun are the only downsides. I went on an overcast day which was perfect, but after sunrise or before sunset would be great too. Plenty of trees all around as well as plenty of creatures to check out. There were about a dozen or so people that i walked by, everyone was friendly and even got to stop and chat with a few folks while we debated on tossing a turtle off the path for its own safety. Thank you for the...

Excellent trail for bike riding, walking, and running. The Path Foundation added another few miles of trail a few years ago starting at the college. I’ve never felt unsafe biking this trail but it’s good to note that some parts of the trail are pretty secluded so always exercise caution, especially if you’re out by yourself. I used to love biking out here but I haven’t in a while, due to the issues with the land swap where the trail starts at the west end. That trailhead is now permanently closed, so it’s not very easy to access the trail from that side. It’s a shame that the trailhead was closed...

I absolutely love this walking trail! It's a very peaceful walk, surrounded by the beauty of nature. If you like deer, there are plenty hopping around in the trees! It's a good 4.5 mile walk on the first leg (to Waldrop and back). On the downside, it could be more well kept. There's trash along certain areas of the trail. Also, the leaves and dirt could be blown off the actual trail. I definitely wouldn't recommend wearing shoes you don't want to get dirty. Other than that, it's a...
