I took my computer in for repair (it would not power up) and was told that I would have a repair quote within 24 hrs. I had to pay $40 upfront, this would be applied to the repair bill. It was Saturday, by Tuesday I still havenât heard from anyone so Wednesday I called. I was told he JUST started to look into it and he âthinksâ itâs the Power Supply Unit. I asked for a repair quote via email, detailing the diagnosis, the replacement part and cost. The next day I received a very short email with the replacement part (no make or model) and price. No information on what he had done to my computer and how he came to that conclusion OR how long it would take to get the part in and estimated repair time. So Saturday (I was out of town on a trip at this point), my husband called again to see if they had anymore information, and they hadnât done anything else to diagnose the problem but instead offered him a âbetterâ computer they had for sale in their store. Monday we went in to speak with the technician again, and to take a look at their model they had for sale. Theirs was 5 yrs old (ours only 3), theirs had a slower processor (Intel5) ours is a Intel7, AND smaller memory (ours has 1tb), I donât remember theirs. AND the tech was trying to tell me theirs was better and didnât mention it is a refurbished model. So again, I asked him if they had looked at our, and STILL all I got was âI think itâs the PSUâ. Weâll, by this time they should KNOW (itâs been a week)!! I asked again, for an email with details on my problem and a repair quote. (I really didnât want to have a new PSU put in if they werenât SURE that was my problem). He assured me we would have the quote the next day. Then NOTHING!! On Tuesday I went in, and picked up my computer. No âIâm sorry we didnât get to itâ, OR a âthank you for your businessâ. I did a little research, watched some YouTube videos and purchased a OEM PSU online. Took 3 days to come in. Replaced the part (myself) and guess what, it still doesnât work. So in the end it was NOT the PSU. And Iâm still out the $40 for absolutely nothing. I WOULD NEVER TAKE ANOTHER COMPUTER back to Fanelli Boys Tech Repair. Completely...
Read moreI wish there was a âno starâ selection because that is what I would give them! If you want my advise do NOT ever take electronics to this lousy excuse for a repair shop I sent my cousin to them to repair his ps4 that needed an hdmi port replaced and they said they couldnât fix it I myself donât have the tools to do it Iâm only amateur electrician but I diddnt believe them saying it couldnât be repaired although thatâs their choice the thing that pissed me off the most was when he went to pick it up they charged him a $21.00 storage fee and the thing was in two dozen or more pieces! They NEVER EVEN PUT IT BACK TOGETHER! I mean REALLY! ok so they canât repair it fine Iâll take it elsewhere but for heavens sakes put the dang thing back the way it was especially if your gonna screw someone over with a bogus storage fee not to mention I know for a fact most of whatâs in peices DIDDNT HAVE TO BE REMOVED I examined the part myself before sending it down there and only the top needed taken off so that tells me the idiots have no clue what they are doing in the first place not to mention it was weeks on end before they even decided they couldnât repair it! So my advise is if anyone has an electronic repair that they are considering taking to finely boys you may as well take a sledge hammer and bash the thing into a million pieces youâll save $21 and have the satisfaction of destroying...
Read moreWhere do I begin? Being an accident prone adult, I find it necessary to replace my iPhone screen every so often. Fanelli Boys are great at getting repairs done and more often than not, have the repair parts readily available.
My phone took a fall onto the gravel in my drive way and the screen cracked in three different places. Okay...it was more like four or five. The face recognition was non existent as a result. I had an Amazon purchased glass screen protector on it as well. Don't waste your $$ on the ones listed on Amazon. It did absolutely nothing to prevent the breakage!
I had popped into Fanelli's to see if they could get the glass replaced. Alex Schoonover checked stock and indeed did have the glass available. He took my info and said it would be about an hour for the repair. I told him I'd go ahead and head to work (about an hour away) and pick it a bit before 6pm. I also asked him to put a proper glass screen protector on while he was at it!
He was done before I got to my office. Alex is the best. He obviously knows his stuff!
He remembered me when I returned and got my phone from the work area. Did a quick check to make sure the phone recognized my face, which it did! The glass screen protector has not an air bubble one between the phone glass and protector. Quality work!
Thanks Alex...until next time! I'm sure (knowing me) there will be...
