Review for der dog haus 7.30.11:

der dog haus is a small local pub with a decent atmosphere. It has 4 zones to sit in and we took a alcove between 2 of those zones. It was decent to sit in. not too many bad smells. Lower ceilings though so not good for really tall people or claustrophobes. However, the place was clean and comfy.

We were greeted by a preppy, upbeat waitress that joked around with my husband's dad. She was in a good mood. She attended to us pretty quickly.

I ordered a cranberry juice, and a large salad with chicken strips, cheese, eggs, and bacon. It was pretty good and I didn't have to wait too long to get it. It had plenty of chicken, cheese, eggs, and bacon on it. The lettuce was crisp and cool, the ranch dressing was the right mix as well.

Husband ordered a large cheeseburger and waffle fries. He was happy with his meal. The consistency was great and they gave a lot of toppings, the meat was very thick. The fries had a good texture, he did try his dad's beer battered fries and he loved them.

Our waitresses were pretty responsive and very friendly. They joked around and seemed very personable. I'd say the service was good.

AS for prices I will deduct a half a star because it was pricey my salad was 7.50 and hubby's burger was approx 6.50.

I cannot, however gauge the total, as my husband's dad bought the dinner for us.

Food was great . There were some rude old customers that felt the need to stare at me and my wife the entire time. Everyone made us feel out of place. Only thing I can think of is they were intimidated by our age . Server treated us like we were broke and made us walk our own drinks and plates to counter to get box and refills. Horrible experience because of judgmental old people. I will be sure to pray for you people. You obviously have alot of hate toward the younger generation. Little do you know I own a local business and I alway tip well for well service . Would be a great place if all the customers didn't stare at people and judge them out loud in front of them . God will judge you .who are we to judge anyone ? We as humans don't have the right to judge others I'll be sure to tell this experience to others . Sever couldn't get card reader to work due to reader being outdated and she wanted to write card number down to run it later but...

My grandkids and I travelled from Lewisburg to Parkersburg for a softball tournament and after checking into the hotel needed somewhere to eat dinner. We found Der Dog House and my twin 7 year olds and I decided to have dinner there. We were very pleased that we did. The staff welcomed us immediately even though they were very busy. We were seated right away and the waitress took our order within 5 minutes. Ten minutes later we had our food and it was delicious. Three other employees stopped to make sure we were happy with our meals and even customers spoke to us on their way out. The food was great, the service fantastic and we left wishing that we didn’t have to travel 3 hours to return. But if ever in that area again we will certainly be back. I wish we could give them more than 5 stars! They deserve it! No wonder they were busy. The locals know how...
