Lovely place to get away from the bustling streets, upkept grounds , really a marvel. HOWEVER , the groundsmen working the place was extremely rude in our experience. The first time we’ve ever been to a park, couldn’t read the time to leave (but made a plan to leave fore it got dark) and ended up having our vehicle locked inside the gate. We’d heard horn blasts but thought nothing of it, to then find out they were alerts from the groundsmen, who later exclaimed he’d blown the horn 20mins (when it was 10 at least) as he unlocked the gate and , also he spoke very condescendingly to my fiancé and I don’t appreciate it. We’ve never had this happen before and were apologetic and took accountability. The man had parked far outside the gate and hid under a tree with his lights off and waited for us to wander/drive around trying to figure out an exit. He said the park service had a record out of license plate so the next time would be a different citation. All fine and dandy, but we didn’t deserve to be spoken to like children, the sun had just gone down less than 5 minutes. His unprofessional tone was enough for us to never return to...

For being right outside the city, it's a pretty decent park with good trails. The trails are well marked with blazes. Not too long, but nice for a 2 hour hike. It doesn't feel that "outdoors" because you come in view with houses on half of the trail, but if you're just trying to get away it's not bad. There's one fantastic waterfall/tiered rocks fall that I totally didn't expect. It's to the right of the blue blaze trail (I started to the left so didn't see it until the end of my hike). Huge slabs of rock that you can hop the whole way down the creek. One downside is the amount of trash along the banks and in the creek. Lots of bottles and beer cans. I also found a homemade bong and a coke baggie, and it's annoying that a bunch of trees and rocks are tagged, but whatever. I ride a lot of the city trails so that wasn't too out of the ordinary. One nice thing is that I only ran into a couple people the entire time. Also, the trail can be a little muddy at points in the spring, but it's not too hard to navigate around...

Everything has been replaced since I was a child and soent half my childhood within this 250 acre park. I mean what kind of Park removes all the swings for children? They had seesaws they had a huge sliding board , they had a bunch of other things to climb on like Jungle Jim's and I believe maybe even a sandbox but everything is gone. The equipment that was removed would have lasted 100 years easy. My guess is that they were worried about lawsuits like everyone is. It was so sad to see this park changed and parts of it practically unrecognizable to me. I spent literally almost the entire 1980s playing in that Park almost every day. I left in disappointment without even getting out of my car. All I wanted to do was get on one of those that went so high. Highly disappointed! However the rest of the park is still there i spent a lot of time riding my bike on the trails the wooded part of the park which few venture into in comparison to the main playgrounds and ball fields in...

Would you believe me if I told you this park was in the middle of a busy urban neighborhood right outside of Baltimore City? When we moved to Parkville briefly for my son to start attending the MD School for the Blind (before he became a residential student), we discovered this gorgeous tucked away park with rocky watered paths that brought us so much peace in the middle of the city lifestyle. Its wild to me how it feels so quiet and secluded when just minutes outside of this spot youre in bumber to bumper 5 lane city traffic 🤯🌳🪨💦 We return every couple of years just to find this little gem’s peace and quiet. . . . #doublerock #parkville #baltimoretiktok #baltimore #md #maryland #park #nature #natural #doublerockpark #travel #traveltok #traveltiktok #tiktoktravel

Favorite low key park. It features 2 playgrounds, a baseball field, 2 pavilions, a ton of Picnic tables, and a wooded trail. The trail could use some maintenance but it’s a nice getaway from the city. The trail features large rocks (obviously) and a small stream. There are a few shallow bodies of water that along the trail that is perfect for little ones to play in the stream (at your own risk). It’s very relaxing for relaxing in nature, deep breathing or reading a book. The park does have a restroom and 1 pavilion appears to have a grill. There is plenty of parking for a intimate event or family gathering. Overall, this is a cute little park that offers nature close to the city. Fyi: the rocks can be slippery when wet so wear sturdy shoes or hiking sandals.
