A friend and I were looking for a nail salon where we could spend a "girls afternoon"; we both wanted more "flashy" nail designs and spent a lot of time looking at local places and their work. We liked the designs we saw in reviews for Pink Boutique and a few people recommended them, so we had high hopes.
Unfortunately, the overall experience left us still searching -_- We booked appointments for the same time, however my friend had to wait an additional 20-30 minutes before they even started working on her. My tech was pleasant, however I am not at all enthused by the finish product of my nails; a few times, she was really rough on filing (both with the dremel and by hand), a couple of the nails are crooked, the nails are incredibly lumpy and do not blend up nicely from my cuticles (they look bulbous), and where they needed to be thicker (the mid point, where the tip is applied), many are near totally flat - they just look terrible up close.
The total was $60 + tip for a full set w/ nail art on the ring and middle fingers plus a clear gel top coat (which started peeling off one of my fingers while I was still at the salon waiting on my friend to be finished) - ... honestly, I would really love to just take them off and start again someplace else, but for that price, I just have to wait it out and try to make them look presentable on my own.
Mid appointment, my friend had to take a break because her tech had to work on someone else (after she had already had to wait an extra 20-0 minutes for her appointment to start). It was hard to tell who actually worked there because the employees were dressed so casually, and at one point one of the techs answered her personal phone during the appointment.
I don't mind a relaxed atmosphere at all, but for that kind of money, I would expect better service and a much...
Read moreWhen I walked in it seemed really nice, I came a little early so I sat there for about 30 minutes. Then she tells me to come back when she was done with the woman before me, so I sit down and then she then tells me she needs a break so I let it go, I let her walk off she was gone for another 20 minutes... But It was my first time here so I gave her the be if it of the doubt I just wanted my nails done. So when it came down to it her acrylic was way too wet when she applied it charged me and extra $10 for any shape other than square (I wanted sqovel) and my nails have no arch/structure. They're flat and look bad. I asked for one thing she basically told me no and I had to pay an extra $15 for any "advanced designs." so I had another design saved luckily, then I had glitter put on my thumb and middle finger, it was applied so thick and goopy it didn't dry all the way and she put gel right over it (which is a no no if you put a gel top coat on regular polish it must be 100% dry or it will wrinkle) after the gel hardened she charged me $55 for everything. I was not pleased with what she had done. I then had to go to Sally's and buy a polish to fix the glitter nails because shortly after I got home I tried to open a box and the glitter polish completely came off. So I had to fix them myself. I really wanted this place to work but she rushed though because she must have had things going on at home, tried to FaceTime someone while she was doing my nails and barley talked to me...and I had scheduled with the...
Read moreUpdate: Jazz is no longer working at this location. I couldn’t figure out how to remove my review, but I wanted to update it to say: Jazz has taken her talents to Beauty and Grace Salon in Brunswick, Ohio. It is well worth the extra 20 minute drive to get my nails done by her!! I had the most wonderful experience this afternoon at baby’s Pink Salon! I booked a manicure with Jazz and was simply hoping to make my hands somewhat presentable while doing something nice for myself. My hands were in very rough shape from teaching art, gardening, nail biting, and a serious lack of self care throughout the last couple years of pandemic parenting. I didn’t give her much to work with, but this ARTIST transformed my torn apart nails and cuticles into ten mini works of art! Jazz was reassuring and confident as I apologized for the condition of my hands. She asked a few questions about my preferences and I trusted her to create a look that encompassed these things: abstract art, reds, and something that works for the fall season. Jazz went above and beyond my expectations and kept her vision within my comfort zone (I’ve never even tried more than one solid color of polish at a time; let alone try “nail art”)! She was calm and kind and this visit felt like it made up for a couple years of neglecting my self care. I am incredibly pleased and feeling beautiful after this experience. I highly recommend booking an appointment with this talented...
