GMed Healthcare: Dr. Vikram Gupta, MD — Attraction in Passaic

Dr. Gupta's office environment has gone downhill over the years as his practice has grown. I decided to take my elderly father to see him recently, based on my positive experience with Dr. Gupta from years ago when he seemed more attentive.

On both occasions he was running more than an hour late and overbooked patients to the point where people were spilling out into the hallways waiting for hours to be seen. He had a med student see my father during the 1st visit and he failed to provide the necessary referrals to ensure proper care for my father. During the second visit he was very dismissive and condescending. As a result, I will be looking for a new PCP.

In response to the reply from Dr. Gupta; we never received the proper referral for my father to see a neurologist, which was the focus of his initial visit. During his second visit, while you were aware of his condition, you asked him bogus questions that the average person his age wouldn't be mindful of. You wanted to make him look like a fool or maybe you didn't even care to ask more targeted questions for a proper assessment. You rotate med students like crazy and assign them what you feel to be grunt work. The young lady that we initially met with couldn't even give you a compliment to hold you in high regard. Perhaps, because you were being condescending towards her in your patient's presence. At the end of our second visit, you referred to everyone in the room as boys and girls.

I'm sure your heart is very heavy while agreeing that we should seek medical care elsewhere. In going through your reviews, there are many other patients who have had a similar experience. All the negative reviews reference your lack of attention and smug demeanor. One person mentioned that they filed a formal complaint with the entity that oversees your medical license. Very excellent care the doctor himself is extremely warm personality, sense of humor, caring , listens to the details of you describing your illness !!! Wonderful bed side manner goes above and beyond for his patients . Made me feel very confident in his treatment plan. Best doctor I had so far his front office staff could use some more etiquette, the nurses are pleasant and professional but I am searching for a new doctor as I type !!! Very disappointed when I recently called to get my prescription increased so I can get back on my feet and back to a normal life every time I move I feel like I’m dying and can barely breathe !!! The rude front desk clerk refused to send doctor information to increase my iron after I’ve been laying in bed the last 6 months knowing this was an important ongoing issue !!!! So rather than treat the conditions or send a dosage increase for IRON!!! , for my anemia and blood disorder , they rather keep me waiting til January for an appointment !!! I was disappointed with not getting the proper helped I needed to feel better !!!! Then had to wait 3 months just to be sent to a proper cardiologist that accepted my insurance mean while I could have died during this time!!!! The cardiologist I was finally sent to was amazing !!!! If you looking for a great doctor he is able and I would recommend him but the front office ppl was a deal breaker for me !!! ...

If you value your life and health stay far away from these people. I am a 74 year old man who has been on buprenorphine to treat a substance abuse situation. I have been on this medication since 2016. I went to Dr Gupta because he was listed on the internet as a buprenorphine provider. He agreed to treat me. After that meeting I only encountered this horrible person one other time. I received my buprenorphine for the next 9 months from his lackeys under his aegis. Suddenly and abruptly, Gupta decided to cut me off from my meds with no warning. Of course, the devil never had the balls to tell me personally. He had his lackeys do it. They sent me off with a five day supply!! This excuse for a man had them give me some bullshit about my insurance not paying for my treatment. Nonsense. This guy took an oath to do no harm. Buprenorphine is highly addictive and I am currently in severe withdrawal. I fear that I am going to die. That's harm and he's liable. He caused this by only caring for the almighty dollar. I am seeking legal advice on this. I don't deserve.this treatment. He's a horrible so called doctor. Stay far away. He only cares....
