Assalamu Alaikum! I can provide you with a detailed review of a masjid mosque that I have personally visited. The mosque is located in the heart of the city. From the outside, it looks like any other ordinary building, but as soon as you enter the premises, you are immediately greeted with the serene atmosphere inherent to any house of worship.
One of the standout features of this masjid is its architectural design. The building is adorned with intricate Islamic patterns and geometric shapes that are aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The interior is equally impressive, with beautiful calligraphy adorning the walls.
The prayer hall is spacious and well-ventilated with large windows that let in ample natural light. The flooring is carpeted, making it comfortable for worshippers during prayer. There is also a designated area for women, which is separated by a partition wall for privacy.
The mosque provides all essential amenities such as clean washrooms, ablution facilities, and a water cooler. Additionally, the mosque has a library filled with Islamic literature, making it an excellent resource for anyone who wants to learn more about Islam.
The mosque is known for its amazing community involvement. The masjid regularly organizes various activities, such as lectures, workshops, and fundraising events to help those in need. The community members are welcoming, warm, and always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it.
One of the most memorable experiences of visiting this mosque was during the holy month of Ramadan. .
Overall, my experience visiting this mosque was nothing short of amazing. The mosque's architecture, facilities, and community involvement all make it an exceptional place to worship and learn about Islam. It's a haven for anyone looking to connect with their faith and cultivate a sense...
Read moreI am writing this review as a Muslim woman and a party directly affected by an extremely serious and concerning incident involving the Islamic Center of Passaic County (ICPC) and Imam Dr. Mohammad Qatanani.
A religious divorce certificate (talaq) was issued by ICPC on July 28, 2025 at the request of my former spouse, who is currently representing himself (pro se) in civil court. The document was:
Written entirely in Arabic (which I do not read),
Issued without my knowledge or consent, and
Used as evidence in a civil court filing, without me ever having seen it or being informed.
I was never contacted, never invited to participate, and never notified of this process. Yet the Center issued a divorce ruling that has serious implications—not only spiritually, but now legally, since it was submitted to a judge.
This type of unilateral religious arbitration, conducted entirely in favor of the man and without even basic due process for the woman, is not just improper—it is deeply unjust. It violates both Islamic ethics of fairness and civil expectations of transparency.
I have requested immediate clarification and accountability from both Imam Qatanani and the ICPC leadership, and I urge any woman or family considering religious arbitration here to ask hard questions about how these proceedings are conducted—and whether both parties are treated equally and fairly.
This is an urgent matter. It is unacceptable that any institution—religious or otherwise—issues legal-resembling documents that affect people’s lives without even notifying them.
I hope ICPC takes this seriously, investigates how this happened, and changes its processes to ensure that no woman is ever excluded from decisions about her own life...
Read moreIm extremely dissapointed in praying the 27th night of taraweeh here. In hopes of attaining spiritual tranquility praying with congregation, it felt like i was at an AUCTION or a prosperity gospel church SubhanAllah! After Isha prayer the imam took over 1 hour 15 minutes gathering donations from the congregation. Starting the charity by encouraging to give minimum 1k. With the time passing towards the end asking to give $100, $50 , $20 with the majority of donations naming the person donating and giving Takbir. At the end auctioning off literally a gold neclace!
There needs to be a better approach!
You have dozens and dozens of charity links and posters all around the Mosque posted on the walls. You have donation ledgers that you can literally hand out to every single congregation attendee. Give a 10, 20, 30 minute lecture on the importance of charity and leave the people to decide what they want to give and dont waste 1h 15min with something that can be done in less than 30. " the left hand shouldn’t know that the right hand is doing ".
Personally for me and a few brothers around me it ruined the spirituality of this significant night! By the time the charity speech was done i was tired, my mind wanderd off and annoyed i lost my peace of mind that i came with to pray taraweeh. It just seemed absurd. I just cant imagine this scene at the time of the...
