Went in to sell my sterling and some 14k. Sterling = paid $70 below spot price 14k = $70 below spot price See a trend here? Read one of your fake reviews from somebody who you didn't make feel "less than" just because she was a woman, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 (great pandering) then see another review where you try to rob a woman for $750. Facts, people go to the scrap yard because they don't want to accept 2 thirds the value which they would get at a PAWN shop. (YOU ARE NOT A PAWN SHOP) They don't go to the scrap yard because they don't know of PAWN SHOPS, or they want to sell stolen goods. No, they go because they know they are supposed to get spot value and CHECK the "SCRAP STERLING SILVER PRICING" Monday thru Friday. Your explanation to Maura regarding your "Complicated" fees would have us believe it cost $750 to refine a tea set?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Then you try to "Mansplain" retail vs scrap price WHEN she listed the scrap price in her review? AND recieved scrap price from another facility. 😂😂🤣🤣🤣 I will gladly pay $140 to let the public be aware of your crooked ways. I don't have to scam people to make a living. If your reputation means sooo much to you and your family business... you should probably stop scamming women and people YOU presume to be theives... Quite honestly, it's not that complicated and if after 100 years in the business you can't make things less complicated for you or your customers, maybe you should go FLIP some BERGERS. The only reason you get 2 stars is because of the Adorable Puppy...
Read moreThe owner challenged me to leave a negative review, so I'm relating an honest account of my experiences in my last 2 visits. We're cleaning out my deceased father-in-law's basement. About 2 weeks ago, I called and was quoted $3/lb. for #1 copper pipe scrap. I brought down quite a bit. Berger Recycling listed it all as #2 (for less money). When I protested, the manager was rude but grudgingly re-rated over half of it as #1.
When I brought more today, nearly all #1, they paid me the price I received 2 weeks ago for #2 copper pipe scrap. It was lower than all the prices I found on Google for copper pipe scrap in Rhode Island. When I objected, the owner spent 15 minutes cross-examining me as if he were a lawyer and I was on the witness stand. It felt like he was trying to convince me I was stupid or ignorant. He said that the prices listed on Google were fake, without seeming to know anything about the websites where they were listed.
Why would he do that if he was truly giving me a fair price? In the future, I will go out of my way to avoid selling scrap to Berger Recycling. I don't like the way...
Read moreI’ve been going here for the last 5 year. Only last week did I realize that they closed at 4. most of the time im rolling in at 4:30ish after work and they never say anything. Even help me unload my scrap from my truck. I purchased a toolbox off them for dirt Cheap and it had a key Weren’t even looking to make money off of it just want to see it go to a good home. A couple months before that I Brought a couple big batteries there to get scrapped they didn’t know if they were recyclable but they took them anyway and paid me out for them. Next time I went there they told me they couldn’t recycle them. I went to go pay them back and they wouldn’t except my money. Great family atmosphere, Even the guys out on the floor seem to love their job. Attitude reflects leadership. And I mean it in a good way Everybody’s always smiling. cool wold war 2 scrap posters on the walls and if your lucky you leave with a half dollar coin. Can’t say enough good things...
