Small park with the historic Slater Mill, as well as nice views of the Blackstone and a couple of other historic buildings. It’s run by the National Park Service and has a handful of informational signs posted, as well as an audio tour on their app. While tours are offered from April-December, the grounds are open to visitors year round. Theranger-led tours allow you to actually go into the mill and see some of the machinery in action. I really enjoyed this, as Ranger Mark did a wonderful job contextualizing the significance of the mill relative to slavery and child labor while also keeping it interesting and engaging with his humor. While waiting for the tour, I watched a short informational video and toured a temporary archeological exhibit upstairs. Very cool experience, I’d highly recommend it to anyone, visitor and native alike!

We came by not knowing what to expect. The staff at the visitor center across the street suggested we try to see if we can catch the last bit of the 2:30 tour. When we got there, a small group was just finished with the tour. Luckily, the park ranger, Tyler was super nice to head back into the mill to give my husband and I a tour. He was super passionate and engaging as he told the story of the Slater Mills. He was really informative and we learned a TON about the local history and how it impacted industrialization of our country. Eye opening to see how the industry evolved! The surrounding property is really nice and it always feels awesome to be in a space with so much history. Highly recommend but make sure you're around for the tour! Tour times are 10:30, 12:30, 2:30!

A small, charming place with rich history woven through all its parts. Its a perfect spot to sit peacefully and read. Usually doesn’t have a lot of people. The place features a well kept garden by the river. You can always spot native birds, ducks and swans. It may not look like one of the quintessential instagram spots but its sense of peace has me coming back. Local tip: Go behind the Pawtucket City Hall through the Slater Mill parking to find some secluded benches overlooking the river. You can enjoy guided tours on the weekends between 10:30am -3:00pm. Unlike many places this has plenty of free parking.

The tour of the Slater Mill was very interesting, the ground were well maintained, and the river offers nice views. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Free parking and Free admission, some reviews say it too expensive, maybe in the past, but now it's run by the National Park Service, it was Free. ** Very Important, you can only enter the main area of the mill by guided tour, its all free, so no issue there, but the guided, and best part IMO is only offered a few times a day, so plan accordingly, because it shouldn't be missed.

I spend a lot of time volunteering at this historic landmark but have never left a review. This organization is managed by the National Park Service. Tours of the mill are free. Slater Mill itself is open to the public, but the other historic buildings on the property are currently closed to the public. Opening time varies by season, so be sure to check ahead of time if you want to go on a tour. Browse the national park service website for tour times and to learn more about the history of the mill.

The Old Slater Mill and other buildings that are around the Historic District were acquired by the National Park Service in 2021. We were part of the first 10,000 inside according to the ranger. They’re still setting up displays and they have more work to do on other buildings but it was an interesting part of our history and culture. To get your passport stamped cross the Roosevelt Ave street. restrooms are located there. As well as additional museum exhibits.
