If you don’t eat here you will be missing out on an absolute gem of a place in Central Falls RI. A new addition to the already stellar collection of tried and true Taquerias in that town but this place stands alone and on top. Every once and a while you bite into something at a new eatery and are taken aback by the absolute joy your mouth experiences….this was the case here. Al Pastor Tacos on an incomparable level. Home made tortillas that were bronze from just the right amount of time on the griddle, amazingly tender pork that was perfectly crispy and super fresh chopped cilantro….drizzle some housemade tomatillo sauce and a few drops of their own hotter tomato based hot sauce and fresh lime. Seriously it was sublime perfection. The owner of this establishment is a 26 year old Central Falls High School graduate who wanted this from an early age and got a job as a dishwasher and worked his way up to executive sous chef at a local restaurant so he’s earned his chef coat. In the kitchen next to him is his mother who’s smile shows her pride in her son and his accomplishments. Please don’t miss this place as you won’t be disappointed!
The horchata was 100% homemade and delicious as well and was worth the trip if that...
Read moreTuxpan taqueria has been my go to place for Mexican food since moving to Providence. Far and away the most consistently fresh and delicious Mexican food I've found in Rhode Island / Massachusettes. They have numerous awards for a reason.
Their ingredients always taste impressively fresh. Every dish I have had looks and tastes delicious. The Torta and Loaded Nachos are also a strong point (not to say the tacos and burritos aren't also delicious). I do takeout and they are never soggy or gross by the time I get home, which is a problem I often have with other Mexican places. I've been here at least 30-40 times, and never been disappointed. The carnitas are my favorite, but the other meats I've tried have been good as well.
The restaurant inside is a bit small, but it's cute, and a great visit in warmer weather where they have a nice sitting area outside.
The staff is friendly and professional, and I find their takeout time estimates are quite accurate.
Only thing I wish is that their hot salsa was a bit hotter. I've also had better chips at some other places. But that's really it. They definitely have their own flare on all the dishes and take pride in...
Read more10/10 experience at Tuxpan last night!!! When we pulled up around 9:30 on a Friday night the parking lot was full. It’s a small place but they had plenty of seating for individuals, couples or small groups. They even had a couple tables with umbrellas outside, which is where we sat, it was perfect. The young ladies at the cashier welcomed us with a smile and took our order. While we ordered we watched the kitchen staff rolling and pressing their fresh tortillas, I was drooling at this point. We grabbed our drinks, let her know we’d be outside and headed to our table. Not even ten minutes later they brought our tacos, and they looked just as amazing as they tasted! I ordered chorizo, steak and Al pastor, and they were all incredible. Al pastor was by far my favorite though, the flavor of the sweet and savory caramelized meat was insane!!! The way my eyes were rolling while eating said it all lmao. After we finished eating, what seemed like one of the owners had come out to grab our plates and told us about their plans to put up a new sign soon, he seemed so sweet and humble. I will most definitely be making this my regular taco spot! Thanks...
