This park is a sports' lovers paradise. I was surprised at how nice the fields were. When you first come in, you will see the football/soccer field on your left. The grass was neatly mowed and had clear marking, and there were 2 nets for soccer. Also, there was even a scoreboard, bleacher seats, and stadium lighting.
On your right, you will see the baseball field with a fence and plenty of grass to run around. It also come with a scoreboard, bleacher, seats, and stadium lighting. In front of the baseball area, there's a sandy area presumably to play volleyball, and next to that is a huge pavilion with picnic tables. If you keep going, you'll see some restrooms and next to it is a playground, and next to that is a skate park. The playground and skatepark both felt a little run down, and the playground is super small and only had one slide and some monkey bars plus a small metal climbing structure.
I didn't really see any walking paths...Only other downside was the exit was a bit confusing. There were one way signs and do-not enter signs, so I was unsure which was the way out. (Edit: Park at the library and enter and exit that way)...
Other than that, this park is not too bad if you are a...
Read moreRumsey Park is the heart of recreation in Payson. It’s a big, open space that feels like it was built for everyone, no matter what you’re into. On one side you’ll see kids running across the playgrounds, on another you’ll find ball fields alive with games, and there’s always someone out walking their dog or just enjoying the fresh mountain air.
What makes Rumsey Park special is how much it offers in one spot. There are basketball courts, tennis courts, a skate park, picnic areas, and trails that weave through the grounds. It’s the kind of place where you can bring the whole family and everyone finds something to do. When events roll into town, Rumsey becomes a gathering point, with festivals, tournaments, and community celebrations filling the space with energy.
Even on quieter days, it’s a good place to stretch your legs, breathe deep, and watch the Rim Country sky shift as the day rolls on. Rumsey Park isn’t just a park, it’s where the town comes together, a hub that carries the heartbeat of Payson.

Read moreAll the locals and their dogs are rude at this dog park. We came up to visit family and took our dog to the park for her first time. She was attacked by some of the locals dogs I had to rip them off her. She is 8 pounds the dogs that we're vicious were about 60 to 70 lb dogs I understand this off the leash Park but these owners didn't care in fact they were laughing that's there big dogs were attacking not only my dog but other dogs that showed up. and two of the dogs joined us because those dogs actually got bit by other local dogs. So there was about 10 locals and their dogs and those with only dogs are people allowed in the big area because the other dogs would intimidate anyone new and as well as the locals they would try to intimidate us. It is very unfair the locals dogs also attacked a young boy and girl as we was leaving. I hope those dogs and owners get...
