Maxey Park — Attraction in Pecos

I've only been to the dog park so that is what this review is for. For a city with no grass I am so happy they have this dog park! Up here for work and it's so nice to be able to take my pup to the park to be in a more familiar environment since we're from Houston. Grass, trees, nice tables with shade, fun things for the dogs to play on, water fountains. You name it this place has it! The only thing is that it doesn't have a double gate entry and the gate it does have had the horseshoe latch. The dog I have with me doesn't know how to open it but my German shepherds at home would be opening it as a fun trick. So if you have a smarty pants dog...

I really wish the park had side walks or at least walking trails to safely take a walk in the park. You basically have to walk within the wired barrier located around the park. In the grass area, there are a lot of holes in the ground and have to be careful when walking or running because you may hurt your ankles. Maxey's is great. My mini healer loves it there. It's divided into 2 separate fenced areas for big and little dogs. Nice grass, trees, huge rocks, toys, picnic tables, etc. It's always clean.
