My husband and I have been traveling for over 6 hours to get to Pecos TX. We were tired, hungry and wanted a sit down meal. We asked the front desk of our hotel and they highly recommended this place. When we were seated our drinks arrived quickly. The server took our order or so we thought and after 40 mins of waiting we saw that she never came to our table but there was a pleasant young man by the name of Christopher there, who our server had him come and break the news to us that our server lost our order and ask what our order was. My question was why didn’t our server come and tell us, keep the paper she wrote it down on or put the order in? Instead this young man had to come and break the news to us and wrote it down again. Another 30 mins went by and we were ready to leave because neither one of us had anything left to drink and still no food. I had to catching Christopher’s attention since our server would not even look our way. I asked about our food and he went to find out. Now the server shows up with my food and not my husband’s and said his would be out in a minute, 5 more minutes and his food finally arrived as well as more to drink. The saddest part was the food was great, Christopher was a great server but our true server sucked. When we asked for our check our server could not find our order again. We never received an apology by her and had to wait another 10 mins while we waited for her to go to Christopher and asked him what our order was so she could make us a receipt. Maybe she needs to learn to keep the written receipts until a customer leaves. Again the food was excellent the server sucked. Thank you Christopher...

This restaurant has become our favorite when visiting Pecos! We are only in town Sundays for Church and recently discovered this place. The staff is wonderful and very friendly, and the atmosphere is kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!!

We love that we can choose between buffet and ordering from the menu. The buffet has a salad bar and homemade desserts that are delicious, and a rotation of main dish and side options that change daily. The first time we visited the buffet had a combination of a little bit of Chinese food and something else. Today it had batter fried fish and beef stew as the main dish options. The fish was good, especially with using a lemon wedge. There was a chicken soup with chunky vegetables and good helping of deboned chicken. I also had the red potatoes which were spicy and delicious, and a good rice pilaf. My husband enjoyed the beef stew which consisted of large pieces of beef with a stew gravy and large vegetables. He also made himself an impressive little salad from the salad bar. The desserts are the best part for me. Today I tried the banana pudding and also the chocolate flan, a moist chocolate cake topped with a layer of flan and an optional dollop of whipped cream. There is a plentiful amount of choices, various cakes, pies, puddings, and...

Alpine Lodge is a casual dining spot where you can get American menu items. We decided to eat here after eating mostly Tex-Mex for the last ten days. Easy parking - although we walked from our hotel. My son ordered Grilled Chicken AuJus and I ordered a burger with sweet potato fries. Everything we got was flavorful except the green beans. My son didn’t care for whatever seasoning was on them. He ordered four sides for reference and the other three were great! The sweet potato fries were more like thick baked sticks of sweet potato but I love SP so it didn’t bother me. My burger was incredible! I could eat half it was so big. I also got salad bar and really enjoyed being able to go back up and get what I wanted. Even though we were there 30 minutes prior to closing time, everything on the salad bar was still fresh and looked and tasted good. Our waitress was friendly and didn’t make us feel like she was rushing us despite them getting ready to close. If you’re expecting 5 star dining, you are not going to get it anywhere in Pecos. If you want casual atmosphere and food, I would recommend...

I got the soup and salad bar. I'm sorry I was disappointed in the beef stew or beef soup. I thought it was going to be stew beef but it was meatballs. I thought it was going to have potato and carrot and onion, but unfortunately it had a bunch of low-carb vegetables in it like squash and zucchini and cabbage. It also wasn't hot it was just barely warm. The salad bar was really good, and they had a fruit salad on the salad bar that I really enjoyed. What I enjoyed most was everybody there was very polite and very attentive and really nice. I would definitely recommend it but if I return I just won't get the soup, I'll order something else. For me soup should really have potatoes and I'm really disappointed when I find a soup that doesn't have potatoes. This place is located next to a hotel, there is one or two semi truck parking spaces out in front of the hotel, I'm a truck driver so I parked there. The restaurant is immaculate, it is absolutely so clean. The bathrooms are clean and very nice.

Was seated quickly, the staff who seated me grabbed my tea immediately. Had a bit of a wait for my server, David, to take my order but from that point forward he took excellent care. Drink stayed full, he was attentive but not intrusive - honestly the best part of the experience. Took just over 25 minutes for my meal to come out, chicken fried steak, stuffed potato and, steamed broccoli. The CFS was a fair size for the price, although a bit tasteless and covered in white gravy. While the potato was steaming hot, the cfs barely registered as tepid. The broccoli was warm, and almost raw. The potato should have been a standout with cheese, bacon, onions, sour creme and butter - all the elements of something wonderful. I just didn't come together. Overall the great service offset otherwise mediocre food. Understandably, this is pecos and fine dining options are borderline criminal in their absence. I'm here for a week and may opt to give them another chance.
