Very nice hotel. Very quiet during our stay.
Garbage bags in trash cans; a big plus.
Nice amenities in the room.
Wide selection of TV channels. TV remote is a bit tricky to operate.
Bathroom ceiling light is well positioned to also light up the shower/tub area.
Shower head flow pattern very nice, but the flow rate was pretty poor. It takes so long to soap up and rinse off, that I probably use much more water than if the flow rate was normal.
Bath towels very absorbable and large, bath sheet size.
Bed mattress was very comfortable. Not too firm, not too soft.
Pillows choices are very personal so it’s hard to rate. For me they were not so great. I like a firmer pillow.
Safe in the room.
Mini Fridge.
Microwave in the room.
Coffee maker in the room.
Great breakfast spread. Lots of choices. Normal scrambled eggs. Yay! Actual dishes and utensils-not plastic. A nice touch. Cloth napkins. Looked for paper napkins-sometimes the preferred choice-but nowhere to be found.
No ice available for the breakfast juice drinks. Had to ask the kitchen staff to retrieve some ice from the kitchen.
The milk, my favorite beverage choice for breakfast, was in a pitcher on the counter, not kept on ice or in a cooler or thermos. Warm milk is no fun at all!
The dining area TV was on a Spanish speaking channel. Keep in mind this was Pecos, TX USA.
High points for cleanliness. Housekeeping seemed to be cleaning all the time. The room was very clean. And they still have the, one family unit in the elevator at a time, rule.
Luggage carts available with air inflated tires. Smooth rolling carts.
Internet was about 10mbps x 10mbps. Not too bad, but expect more nowadays.
The suite had one of its smoke/fire alarms hanging from the ceiling. Seemed like an unusual oversight for this nice hotel.
Would I stay here again? Probably, yes. Clean hotel and...
Read moreUpdate: I came back because I needed to use up my points and I must say I was extremely pleased with the personnel. So I continued to stay and haven't seen the rude little girl since. And I think it's safe to say this location has earned back my business primarily due to a gentleman named Emmanuel. Oil field towns don't typically employ this level of excellence in the way of hospitality. So thanks to him (and the breakfasts...lol) I've swallowed my pride and am back as a regular customer.
So this was my go to when in Pecos for work. Great breakfast and the fitness center and swimming pool are top rate. But my wife needs a PSD (service dog) and I've been informed by the snide little service desk girl that "oh, we only allow larger service dogs". So it seems that Best Western has rewritten the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) for their little hotel in Pecos, Texas. I nicely tried to educate the ignorant little girl and was met with a sarcastic smirk. Now, she's a little cutie which probably explains how a Diamond Select customer could be met with such a disrespectful attitude - she didn't seem concerned with how the management might respond. Fortunately this was at check out (the gentleman working when we checked in wasn't so ignorant), so there is no need to file a complaint with the Justice Department, but it's safe to say we will be staying elsewhere in Pecos from now on.
Also Best Western corporate didn't bother to respond to my questions concerning this franchise's service animal policies. So I'm done with all Best Westerns (obviously no...
Read moreThis is my 2nd time staying here. First time I was very pleased with the stay took my grandkids and they enjoyed the pool. This 2nd time it was a horrible experience I was unable to get a room in the main hotel and had to take a room in the last cabana and I woke up the first night with bites all over my legs I’m not sure if it was bed bugs I tried to see but my legs look horrible about 10 bites and I know it wasn’t mosquito bites because I wore pants all that day and I didn’t get itchy or those bites till that night I noticed in the morning when I woke up. Then the 2nd night we get woken up by a man who was cleaning the table outside our room at around 6:30am or 7am. When I looked out see who it was he was acting weird not sure if he was looking in through our curtain. Then when we walked outside to go eat breakfast a few min later he is sitting 2 doors down with his cleaning cart parked and him smoking weed while working!! When I checked out I told the guy up front to check the mattresses in the room I was staying since my legs are all itchy and with bites all over he didn’t ask anything just gave me an “ok”...no apology nothing. I have relatives in Pecos and go there at least 2-3 times a year but will be trying other hotels since my experience was not very good this time around. Breakfast was good but all else...
