New Ambition Beauty Supply — Attraction in Perth Amboy

The moment I walked in the store I was greeted by one of the employees that work there and I told her what I needed immediately said she showed me something and said oh this is all we have without letting me completely describe what I was looking for. The item she showed me, which was nothing like what I asked for was basic and cheap in the front of the counter. So because she was SOOO DISMISSIVE AS THEY ALL ARE IF YOU ARE NOT OF LATIN DECENT and I know they have it because it was purchased there previously I began to look around. The entire time they're speaking their language which is not English which frustrated me further. Needless to say here in Perth Amboy which is predominantly Spanish majority of the places either look at us (Black Americans) funny or are very dismissive and rude, this was a surprised considering I've been here before, I wont be back. Store clerks here are getting younger and ruder by the month. I HATE that my parents live here because of merchants such as this one who is basically majority of the Spanish ran/owned store and shops here. If I could give -10 stars I absolutely would until they respect us more as customers and give us the same courtesy as they do thg here fellow spanish...

I came in today got assisted by a really nice girl. I went up to the check out and my total was almost 24.00 I didn’t have any change since I just went to the ATM handed over 40. The clerk checking me out bagged my items after I already put the money down on the counter. The clerk then tells me it’s 23 and some change where I then state I handed him 40 and he insisted I only gave him 20 dollars. I asked him to check even check the cameras and another clerk states oh he’s a honest guy and I then stated that’s great but I literally only took out 200 dollars from the ATM next door where I just spent 120 in then had the remaining 80 which I pre counted then handed the 40 over. I never carry cash that’s what makes me more upset I just knew they were wrong but instead of actually checking the drawer or cameras they just stated oh you probably did lose it not here. 20 is 20 but if they lie about that what else do they lie about ? Will never return here I rather spend 40 on a box dye at Ulta than to spend another dime here. They already owe me 20. Hope they can use that 20 once they realize they were wrong and give it to the next customer towards...

Typical beauty shop in an ethnic community selling over priced products with horrible customer service, aggressive sale tactics, and return policies that are instantly made up. I purchased an item and called the next day to tell the owner that it was expired. He tells me come back I will give you your change back and when I arrive to the shop he change the policy and said that he cannot give me a refund but only a credit so I got cheated out of 50 Cent plus tax on the item because I took two items that cost $2.99 and I left never to return to this rip-off beauty supply store. That is so typical from this type of ownership of beauty, supply stores in ethnic communities. The whole time he was laughing in my face.I will report his business practices to a higher authority, such as Dept of Commerce for companies in Perth Amboy and Attorney General’s office Consumer affairs.
