Venga Pues — Restaurant in Perth Amboy

Here we go …, what a beautiful day today 3/12/23… warm/sunny. Was a long day but now I’m back down in my neck of the woods.. my wife needs to go Perth Amboy to go get some beauty supplies… well I am now hungry.. what’s that ? A new restaurant? I should check them out, what are the reviews saying? While in the beauty supply store, I asked the clerk has she eaten at the restaurant next door? She said no, but on the line it’s this brother, who says “ I don’t want to get in your conversation, but I have” What ? So how’s the food? “ Bro it’s good “ man you said enough! Your name ? Slim. Ok , babe let’s check it out… As soon as I come , the music is kicking (not loud) but I feel the island 😊

I ordered the barbecue ribs, rice, red beans, sweet plantains and some wings with fries… sounds typical but did not taste typical…. Slamming!! Score!! So tasty, everything just good and look good… shout out to Kenya … she us feel like we were coming home to momma house😄

Showed so much hospitality and felt si genuine and happy with what they do!

One of the BEST restaurants in Perth Amboy! If you’re a seafood lover, I highly recommend CAZUELA DE MARISCO!!! The soup arrived in a beautifully crafted bowl, steam rising invitingly. The vibrant colors of the seafood and herbs were visually appealing, setting the stage for what I hoped would be a delicious experience. The soup is creamy and very rich in flavor! and generously packed with a variety of fresh seafood, including shrimp, scallops, and tender fish pieces, crab, octopus. You can tell everything was fresh! Each morsel was cooked to perfection, maintaining a delightful texture. Other dishes I recommend are CHURRASCO and ARROZ CON MARISCO!!! Also, this restaurant is SPOTLESS! Clean bathroom, tables, the service is excellent. Everyone is very cordial which speaks about Colombian hospitality. Overall, amazing service, food quality and quantity! Coming back to try out other items...

My husband and I stopped by for brunch one Saturday after going to Labcorp for blood work and what a great restaurant we found! The food was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection! We got an order of the almohabanas, pan de bono, and shared an order of the desayuno venga pues! The pan de bono and almohabana were some of the softest we have tried and we’re still hot when we received them! They were so good we ordered more to take home! The desayuno was also cooked to perfection: the lechón was crispy and even the fat of the pork was crisp and not chewy at all! The arepa was crisp on the outside and buttery on the inside! Most places I’ve gone to and gotten an arepa in NJ end up a little on the dry side but we couldn’t stop eating this! We will definitely be coming back...
