My husband and I discovered a piece of New Jersey history that we had never known about. This weekend we watched the documentary entitled "Benjamin Franklin. A Film by Ken Burns." We learned of the "Proprietary House" in Perth Amboy, whose best known resident was New Jersey's last royal governor, William Franklin (son of our Founding Father, Benjamin Franklin). Our docent, Rene, was fantastic. She walked us through the history of the house and its many residents. What a great tour we had. We can't wait to come back and plan for a cup of tea. ...

My daughter told him to use his inside voice and the guide repeated this and laughed. The group turned and stared. It's important to be inclusive and welcoming to all.
