I got this room through a third-party site (i.e. "$80 or less for a hotel in the downtown area!") and then after I got the address was a bit frightened, frankly, by specific reviews I read online here. But, I'm not wealthy enough to forgo the money spent, so I went. And: it was fine! If you are the kind of person who just wants a clean, quiet room that doesn't cost alot where you can fall asleep watching tv and then wake up to start your day this does it. If things need to be new and unblemished, with mints and big lofty robes ---this isn't it. I stayed in room 402. It was what I wanted: queen bed, television, soaps and lotions, clean towels, coffee maker, bathroom and sink, window to outside --all in a smallish but clean room. Sure, things should be updated and there were flaws in the bathtub finish. But, it was clean, if dated, and I heard nobody at night! There's limited basement breakfast offerings -coffee, juice, yogurt, cereal and toast. The location is right downtown --I walked to City Hall and Macy's afterward. The Cauldron, a hilarious bar that offers potion-making lessons, is not too far away. I'd stay here again, especially if they would promise me this room (it is true some other rooms do not have exterior facing windows, and there may be variety in their condition). I didn't ask for much, but all my interactions with staff were pleasant. Room keys unlock hotel entrance after 9 or 10p and there is a convenience store right beside the hotel open until 2:30 a.m. I came back to the hotel around 12:30a on a Friday night and stopped in that store and had no unsafe feelings as I entered the hotel. here's an interior shot of the room.

The person who attended me on a Friday left me there for half an hour. The carpet in the room is dirty or stained, part of the carpet about to peel off. The page where I made the reservation (Priceline) announced that the room included breakfast or to my surprise at the counter they told me that there was no breakfast, but there were employees in the area where breakfast is served eating. They also promised a microwave oven that I never saw in the room. Unfortunately I was in the rooms that are almost in front of the counter and the two days that I was at 4 am in the morning there was always an argument between people or they began to make machine noises in the hall. To finish the picture outside in front of the hotel there is a battalion of homeless sleeping sprawled on the sidewalk, and 25 feet below there is a camp of huts of the homeless. This is not a place to stay with the family. I do not recommend to anybody.
