Walking into Bar-Ly the other night I was full of excitement. It looks like a fun place to have a great night. We were seated promptly, and were given our menus, and server right away. We ordered our drinks, and apps received them in no time. The duck dumplings were great, along with our trashcan drinks. This is where it all went south. We were waiting patiently to order our next round, and entrees. We were left there for about 25 mins with no drinks, or service, with a hostess, and manager standing right next to us. Now I get it, it was busy so I let it be. After calling over the manager to maybe get some drinks, we got an attitude saying why don't you ask your server. Again I get it very busy. I saw the manager go to the server to remind her, where she looked over to see us seated. We waited another 20 mins to get her over to the table, still without our next round of drinks we ordered. My friend ordered the chicken wings (Mango Hab.). Still waiting for our drinks I made a comment that we should just grab the check, and go. The hostess heard me finally, and I believe she thought we were trying to leave without paying.... she walked over to a table and whispered in what appeared to be the owner of the bar (Heavy-Set Gentlemen). When I tell you the rest of the time there he was staring at us, I mean REST of the time. Felt really uncomfortable, and finally our FOOD, DRINKS, AND CHECK hit the table at the same time. Normally I would leave it be, and not write a thing, but I asked around the neighborhood, and other guests that were outside. Everyone I came in contact with said that place is exactly what we experienced. We packed the wings to go, just to get to our hotel room to find out they were still pink in the center. Sauce was ehhh. So what do you do when someone can't do it proper. Do it yourself. Popped those bad boys in the oven, and whipped up a REAL SAUCE. Most enjoyable thing about that place was what I...

Read moreI had the absolute pleasure of being served by Joe at the bar, and I can genuinely say it was one of the highlights of my week. From the moment I sat down, his warm smile and infectious enthusiasm made me feel like I was being welcomed into a cozy living room rather than just another bar.
Joe has this incredible knack for making everyone feel special. He took the time to ask about my preferences and shared stories that had me both laughing and reflecting on life. It’s rare to find a bartender who not only mixes a fantastic drink but also crafts an experience that lingers long after you leave. His cocktail recommendations were spot-on, perfectly tailored to my taste, and each sip felt like a celebration.
What truly struck me was Joe's genuine passion for his craft. He spoke about the art of mixology with such reverence, as if each drink he served was a masterpiece. It was hard not to be swept up in his excitement. By the time I finished my drink, I felt not just satisfied but enriched by the connection we shared.
In a world that often feels rushed and impersonal, Joe reminded me of the simple joys of laughter, good company, and expertly made cocktails. I left the bar with a smile on my face and a heart full of gratitude. If you have the chance to experience Joe’s magic behind the bar, don’t miss it. He’s not just a bartender; he’s a storyteller, a craftsman, and a true gem. Cheers...
