This location is bad. Do not eat food here. Wash your hands well. It’s the former home of Accuracy Scientific Instruments. A MERCURY thermometer factory. They used mercury for a long time, heating it and filling thermometers. I worked here from 1975 to 1985. There was a room in the center where they did the mercury filling, heating up the glass and filling. Do not go in that room. There is a ceiling vent with a fan. It’s contaminated with mercury. A test for mercury is to take a lead pencil, typical yellow pencil, scrape the surface with the lead pencil, mercury beads up. All of that room is contaminated. I see a picture you have with 2 ladies standing by a door, I think that’s the room. If it has a ceiling vent and fan, THATS IT. Mercury doesn’t go away, it doesn’t fade with time. It’s a precious metal, it’s metal, it doesn’t burn. My best advice is test it, don’t ever eat food there, and get out, call OSHA and tell them exactly what I said. Tell them that it was a mercury...
