Don't often drive down Indian School, but I found this on Google Maps last November and have been wanting to go ever since. As others have noted, this is not a tourist destination in and of itself, but a nice surprise stop on your way to somewhere else. The waterfall sounds were pleasant to listen to as was watching the swirling currents falling sheets of water. Not so pleasant was the 'established pond' smell, but that kind of naturally comes with something like this. Also enjoyable was watching the ducks in the water and reading the bits of history from the various signs. I also liked the eastern side with the inscriptions and vegetation imprints in the concrete (but do watch out as pigeons seem to have taken over the last bit you could have stood on.) We both got a kick out of the 'Electricity' cover right by a waterfall (fortunately not a POWER kick) but most of all had to laugh about the lower-level drinking fountains right next to the sign warning not to swim in or drink the water. Was it also referring to the water fountains? Neither of us wanted to test it out. :D Spent about fifteen minutes. Did not regret a...

This is my G-19, top level security, hideaway, place that takes me away from here & I use to clear my mind or to relax. Best kept secret in the Valley. Can have bugs & flying insects (nats? Termites?flies?) due to the water in certain areas, if you're squeemish. Wear shoes that have grip (no flip flops) and you're okay w/ getting dirty from the wind blowing dust, dirt & sand plus wet pavement in a few spots. There are places to sit. Please leave you pets. Everybody isn't a fan & it more for human enjoyment. I turn my earbuds and just watch the water and feel the coolness. Can get hit during the day when temps 110°+. Best times are about an hour before dawn until about 90 minutes after and about 45 minutes before dusk until the lights come on & the sky is dark. There's some seating. Please don't litter. It's for everyone, not just you. Pretty safe even at night. There are security cameras in several locations that are possibly continually monitored by PPD. I can't say enough about how I love this place! It's a must see for chill space for...
Read moreI was fortunate to have visited in the absence of these Instagrammers and TikTokers on a Saturday afternoon, so that's always the best isn't it? They were probably annoying the population at the botanical garden. Thank GOD is all I'm saying.
This is a quick, little area to enjoy for a bitâespecially with kids to jump around the platforms throughout. This appears to be a decent and small, but interesting city project l neighboring the canal and GR Herberger Park. It's free to visitâas in actually freeâto come here to chill or lounge if that's your preference. I saw some pro-am photographers and senior citizens walk-jogging confidently, so it's probably safe enough considering it borders Scottsdale. Who knows, really? I mean, I saw a single mallard napping, but it didn't look aggressive. You never know nowadays. I've seen the YouTube videos of birds losing their minds and pecking out people's eyeballs in possible revenge recently. No danger here at all.
It's a decent project. I would not lie to you. I would recommend a visit with a mandatory Thai tea if I were asked for...
