Hot Air Expeditions — Attraction in Phoenix

WORTH EVERY PENNY+++!!!🤗 A Hot Air Balloon ride was on my bucket list at now 72 years young. Customer service us awesome! I took a Lyft to the address and no one was around available and the Lyft had no responsibility to wait. Panic-of-being-left set in. Then, one phone call and "Hot Air Expeditions" came and picked me up!! Thanks again, Joy! 🙂WOW! I was soooo excited to go even as a solo!! The whole operation was so very organized, smooth, educational, and peaceful. Hearing how many times Tommy had taken people up was very comforting to the folks who were scared. I make friends for life there. The champagne breakfast after was such a nice touch and perfect choices on volume and the selected foods. I remember putting on the application months ago I was celebrating being a registered nurse 50 years. It was apparently duly noted and along with the birthdays of the day, to my surprise, it was announced & toasted... nice touch!!! Improvements? Since they asked: An outdoor portapotty would have been nice to be able to go right before the trip since nervousness causes that unnecessary need to be necessary sometimes. ( I have a nurse's bladder so no problem for me). An android & iphone USB cable in the transport cars would have been extremely helpful to charge up phone! You'll want to take videos & lots of photos Suggested apparel in the education narrative would have been nice. That the air is warmer in the sky versus thinking that early in the morning, fall season (Arizona), and floating in the sky would be chilly - would have been helpful to know ahead ( I got overdressed. Sneakers versus sandles because U have to climb in/out the tall balloon basket via 2 holes in the basket would have been great to know ahead. The trip completion certificate re-designed to have a colorful balloon back drop would make the certificate a framing must! Since it's an AI era now, could digitally insert our desired photo onto the trip completion certificate on your website and we print the certificate ourself, as an option. This was an absolutely amazing experience. I found a deal on Groupon and knew I had to take advantage of it. This was the grand finally and best way to close out our trip in Phoenix.

We drove to the Deer Valley airport in order to checkin, and from there the van took us to the field to experience an unforgettable experience. Our driver and crew member Alex was great and noted how skilled and great our captain Jonathan was. On top of that, they already had the balloon ready when we got there so we’d be sure to catch the sunrise.

All the personal touches were great. Before takeoff, Alex was able to get some great photos and videos for us to help capture the moment which I really appreciated. Jonathan our captain was amazing. You could definitely tell he knew what he was doing, along with really enjoys what he does. I enjoyed his humor and it just added to a pleasant experience.

The ride was smooth and it’s like you were floating or gliding in the air. The views were amazing and unforgettable. Seeing the mountains and sunrise had me in awe. The landing was also very smooth. All of the crew did an amazing job.

The breakfast after the ride was nice and I enjoyed hearing some history of the origin of hot air ballooning. Again, Jonnathan added some humor in there and really just added to the experience with his personality. Even the small things of parking the van in front of the sun so it wasn’t beating on us didn’t go unnoticed. There was a couple celebrating an anniversary in our group so they surprised the group with a cake. The glasses were super cute so we had to buy one lol. They are $15 for anyone wondering. You also receive a certificate for flying which is another thing that adds to the experience.

I definitely would fly with them again and recommend to anyone thinking about doing a hot air balloon ride to book with Hot Air Expeditions...

I'll start my review off with the individuals in the office. I attempted to book online and unfortunately there were no availability, so I called the office to be added to the wait list, since I would only be in Phoenix for one (1) weekend. I spoke with Bonnie, who informed me she was in the middle of performing calculations and to call back in a few hours. I did and she was able to add us to the flight for Sunday, but her pleasant disposition and knowledge of the many questions I had immediately placed me at ease. Needless to say she, was extremely pleasant. Three days before the flight I received an email offering a flash sale of 20% off a gift certificate. I called back the office and inquired if I'd be able to purchase and use the certificate immediately. The lady I spoke with (completely forgot her name) informed me that this would be fine.

The morning of the flight was a breeze, our hotel was 45 minutes from the destination and we left w/plenty of time to spare. We arrived shortly before 5AM and check-in was a breeze (yep the check-in team was there, already setup). Joy was our driver to the field, Johnathan was our pilot and Josh was the final member of the three Js. Setup was quick, the three Js answered all of our questions. Take off was a breeze, Johnathan is hilarious and placed everyone at ease. You couldn't even notice when you were ascending or descending. Nothing like flying in an airplane. The ride was a breeze and I would highly recommend this company. From the office crew to the three Js, everyone was lovely to interact w/no matter the amount of questions being asked. I'm an advocate for tipping, as these dollars aren't taxed and was split evenly among the three Js. This is a service, but most importantly you're trusting the crew with your safety.
