It’s not all bad! First they have a nice big parking lot you can arrive to prior to checking in. I pulled in the night prior & found parking with no issues.
The staff are nice enough! They are not overly friendly but they do their job! Bring your ID when checking in along with know what your license plate number is.
They have a restroom inside, it’s pretty nasty, but if you need to go, a little elbow grease could clean it up enough to drop your load!
They will give you a map, you will need it as this facility is a couple blocks long and has multiple drop locations around it! Once at a location to drop you check in with security and then with the receiver. They send you a text with lumper information once unloaded and you can pay online.
Docking locations are tight, you will need to be patient going in and out.
That’s all the good! The bad, this place is soooooo slow! I mean I know it’s refer freight and unloading usually takes 2-4 hrs but plan on sitting here 7-10 hrs. I would not book or take another load out on the same day that you deliver here as you may have to reschedule or miss that pick up due to this facility’s inability to unload you in a timely manner.
Also I’d watch & report your refer temp to your company or broker on multiple drops as the long dock times can really effect your ability to keep product cold.
I took the Brooker for about $600 dollars more on this load because of the bad reviews, I’d make sure you get your money on the front side coming her, or gamble on if they will pay detention.
Overall I would not come back to this facility unless it pays really really good! Maybe in the future they will get their issues resolved but for now it’s too...
Read moreAppointment at 0900, arrived at 0805. Sign at guard shack says you can arrive up to 2 hours early. Got the call to go to R19 around 0830. Thankfully there was only one other truck ahead of me when I went around to the northwest docks where R19 is at, so it wasn't too much of a mess. Half an hour later about half a dozen ended up out on the street waiting for others to dock.
Enough space at the northwest docks to back in without worry. Do not turn into the first entrance to the northwest docks, take the second one or you have to blind side in or just leave and come back in. Don't block West Virginia Street please like one guy has been doing for 2 hours now, lot of "no stopping" signs so I don't know why he's even doing that.
Waited over 2 hours to get locked in for just 6 pallets. All 6 were fine, but Capstone apparently needed to charge $60 for a "restack." Total was $350, for 6 pallets. SMDH. Text to pay for that was at 1140, called my dispatch for a money code and had it paid within 5 minutes. Almost 1400 and still waiting on paperwork.
On the plus side, if you talk to the security guard rowing the northwest docks? He can let you into the restroom. It's actually very clean and nice, so that's a plus.
So, as I'm supposed to get to a shipper that's 180 miles away, and they close at 1700? With it now being just a couple minutes before 1400? It's looking like I will not make it before they close. The other reviews about this place taking all day? Are absolutely no joke. Hope you get detent pay for coming here, otherwise? Avoid...
Read more1 star is way too much to give this place. I read most of the reviews before coming here to have an idea of what to expect, I read a couple of reviews that said you get what you give. Well, I'm always polite to everyone and treat them with respect because I believe everyone should be treated equally unless, they mistreat you and disrespect you then that's a different thing altogether. Anyway we arrived here 30 minutes before our 11am appt and went to check in, as usual asked the young girl behind the counter how her day was and let her know it was our first time here. She took our paperwork and off we go to play the waiting game. Well, we've officially been here since 10:30am yesterday and it's now 11:03am the next day. They finally started to unload us about 9:49 then stopped and came back at 10:51to unload again. Not sure if management here is concerned that we brought in a variety load of chicken that's been sitting in our trailer with doors open at dock since 2:30am. I would not touch this meat even if it was free!!!! Only good thing about coming here is if you've had a long week and need time to sleep or reset your clock, other than that horrible place to come deliver to. Congratulations Shamrock Foods you guys are just as bad as Fry's in Tolleson AZ. Update, 27hours after my arrival and now waiting on paperwork that was supposedly ready when they called me about 30 minutes ago! Ridiculous!...
