They were called the fud trailer. Because of bad reviews they have gone to TFT. My family bought 2 trailers. When we got one of them the outside door grab wasn't on just a hole. The top part that stops the door from swinging open wasn't attached the grease trap bowl by the goods was missing, the same type of bowl on the side top outside of the trailer was missing, most importantly the electrical under the truck was not hooked up properly. One of the scariest things was since the electric braking system wasn't hooked up properly the wires disconnected as I was driving and the tires locked up as I was driving down the road. The wires were not capped or even taped on most of them. The brake lights and running lights didn't work. We bought the vertex they told us later once we saw what they were building on the lotthat the setup we wanted wouldn't fit in it....so they gave us the same size set up with the same size trailer. Don't get me wrong what they said was true HOWEVER they still charged my father for the vertex....that's a major difference in price....with no refund of the difference. We are 4 and a half months in and just had to replace an axle, rim and tire because when driving there was a pothole and apparently their trailers can't handle that.... The trailer jack wasn't welded properly it wasn't welded AT ALL on the bottom and crappily on the other sides so it's ripping away. Yes we have pics of all of this...the only help they gave was giving us the grease catch bowls the handle for the door and screws for the top door staying open pieces...then told me how to do it.... didn't even say sorry or do it themselves. My cousins trailer that we bought at the same time had all the same problems ( except the axle SO FAR) However her water tank started leaking last week. For the $40,144.00 that my trailer cost you would think it would be made a bit better. Why do we need a huge overhaul for a brand new trailer?? Oh and another thing I have talked to several other businesses who bought from them and the axle, electrical, tank are all problems they too had.....stay away from this company and their other name the fud...
Read moreWe chose these guys because they were the cheapest quote we could find for a new trailer. Being newbies we chose the budget route. The timeline we got for the build was accurate, although almost no updates until it was finished, not a big deal. Quality was about what we were expecting (some cosmetic issues, pretty low quality tounge jack, the right side propane tank enclosure is built in a way that you can't get a 100 gallon tank in. Again though nothing major.) The real issue is that during our first event, the exhaust fan blew up. My wife contacted the person we had been working with (I'm terrible with names, and my wife had been handling this since I am still working full time. So I dont have a name). We were told that Cesar would schedule us a time to bring it in and the motor would be replaced same day. However Cesar never contacted us, and they said they couldn't get ahold of him either. We were told he had been out of town and his plane would be landing that day, 3 days in a row. He was also the only person who could schedule us to come in for a repair. After the 3rd day that his plane didn't arrive, they stopped answering our calls. And all of the numbers we have for them go to voicemail boxes that are not set up. Text messages are also ignored. Facebook messages as well. Luckily for us, changing the motor is well within my capabilities, and all it cost me was $260 and 2 very sweaty hours on top of the trailer in mid July. To anyone looking to purchase from Fud, just be warned that you may be fixing warranty issues on your own dime. Other than that, so far everything else seems to be fine. Time will tell
Update: TFT has since contacted my wife and reimbursed us for the motor. Everything is back up and running, and we're looking forward to getting some good use of...
Read moreWorking with the guys from TFT has been great. I did my research prior to checking them out and a local dealer was the best option for us. Although they had some questionable reviews, I wanted to still give them a chance. I worked with them from day 1 to building out the quote to picking up my trailer. Alfonso & Diego was very responsive and able to help me modify my quote whenever we had a change of plans. We also had the wrap done thru them and the process was simple. As soon as the trailer got here, it was already wrapped and ready for installation. I also had the opportunity to work with Arturo as he serviced and installed the final touches. Both guys were professional and had great customer service. The customer service, price for the trailer and the fact that they are local beats any other competitor I looked at, made me highly recommend them if you are looking to build a mobile food trailer.
Now my next step is to pass inspection. I may update my review depending on how this stage goes. Along with any warranty that we encounter. My hope is that they will still support all the way thru even though the trailer was picked up. As I know some businesses tend to fall short on this aspect. I will keep this review updated as I go thru this phase.
Great job Alfonso,...
