So much fun! Truly this is one of those activities that I would suggest everyone do once in their life. We went in the late afternoon and when we got there the line was huge. I was dreading it but it moved so quickly we barely waited honestly. I was nervous because I had never done something like this and I would be riding with a little one. To be honest the attendants don't give you any instructions but I made sure to ask all my questions and they answered them for the most part. It's extremely simple, you scan your ticket and then wait for a little cart, push down to go and pull up to slow down. Get strapped in and then you you'll automatically start moving in the first few minutes. It's a slow scenic ride at first. By the time we got on it was dark but they had the colorful lights on and a small headlight on the cart. It was kind of terrifying being in the dark but it was also cool. Once you reach a certain point it tells you to push your handles down to go, you must keep the handles down the whole time to go at the maximum speed which is only like 29 mph. The only downside is, is that if the people in front of you slow down your cart will automatically slow down if you get too close to them. You will not get to a point of crashing into someone unless the person in front of you is going at a snails pace or full on stops while your going full speed. Luckily we were able to go fast the whole time which my little one loved. It was a rush and all the colorful lights were so cool. The turns are a little scary but like I said, you just pull up a little and you can control your own speed. I think the ride lasted a good amount of time for it to be worth the price. I would recommend going in the daytime if you really want to enjoy the mountain view and then go at night if you wanna feel that adrenaline rush. The kids loved it, the adults loved it, If your able to i would recommend just going full speed, it's truly something the kids still talk about 2...
Read moreHorrible experience! We visited on February 18th around 930 in the evening. My husband and daughter road together in one car. After starting up the hill, the car stalled several times and then started back up, only moving 20ft at a time. After their car arrived to the top of the hill, the coaster lost all power. Lights went out on the coaster and also on the tracks. The belt propelling cars up the hill started making a grinding and cranking noise and the cart also started tipping over to the side!! After an hour of sitting in pitch black darkness stranded at the top of the mountain on this coaster, staff arrived with a Ridgeline pickup to take them back down the mountain. All the meanwhile, no one communicated to the patrons what was happening during the ordeal. I received several frightening phone calls from my daughter and husband with my child very tearful and fearful that her life was endangered! And to try calling to staff at the location was impossible, all you got was a recording! Once my husband and daughter were freed from the car, they were thrown into the back of this pickup and driven recklessly back down the hill. There was no explanation, no apology, nothing for this life altering experience!!! The staff did refund the ride only after my husband and several other stranded customers requested one. This was one scary situation that you do not want to get yourself or your family into! Save your money and drive 5 more minutes down Wears Valley Road to visit Goats on a Roof mountain coaster! We have visited Goats on a Roof for several years now and have never once had a bad experience! Do not risk your life...
Read morePurchasing our tickets was fine other than the lady at the counter seeming annoyed with me and my partner before we even spoke to her. Getting onto the ride was something different. They didn’t tell us how to buckle up properly and didn’t assist us getting on. The seatbelts got stuck and wouldn’t buckle properly. Luckily we got it. Before the ride actually started, a cart behind my partner with two people couldn’t come to a stop when they were very obviously trying and apologized for hitting people. The workers didn’t seem to care and even called them “legends” for not slowing down. As I started going up, my partner pointed out that a cat had run under the tracks and the workers still didn’t seem worried. The ride was semi-okay for me, my only qualm is that there was a very unnerving scratching sound the whole ride and that it was dark. My partner, on the other hand, said that they felt their cart lift off the tracks slightly and that it wobbled going up and down the coaster. The workers gave absolutely no instruction as to how the ride worked and didn’t seem too happy that anyone was there. Right after the ride, we went to the Rocky Top mountain coaster and had a much better experience. The workers sounded happy to be there and gave actual instructions on how the ride worked. When boarding, we talked with a worker about our experience here and when we named it he gave a knowing look and nodded, saying that he’s heard many bad reviews from here.
If you want an actual good experience on a mountain coaster for the SAME PRICE, go to the Rocky Top Coaster. It’s much safer...
