I wasn't expecting much but this was a blast! It goes fast. I am 6 foot and 290 lbs and several times it felt like I was going to fly off the tracks which gave this a high thrill element. It is open 10am - 11pm. You can ride in twos but combined weight can't exceed 330lbs in wet weather and 375ib under dry conditions. At my size it was a comfortable ride. We did it at night which has some added benefits (1) it's cooler (2) they have cool rainbow lights on the track (3) a headlight illuminates the track (4) if it's clear you can watch the stars as you climb (5) cool cricket sounds. They state they are open year round rain, shine or snow. Check for Groupon tickets, we got 2 riders for $22.50 with a limit of 2 Groupons (4 riders). Normal is $12 for kids $14 for adults. There are local coupons as well for $2 off a rider. If you go again it's $8. If your budget is tight and you need to take multiple riders send the first two with a Groupon. Take the receipt and get the next two riders for $8 each. Last thing to consider, you can't take bags or loose items on the ride. You don't get this warning until you are in line so just take your money, get the tickets and put everything in the car. I tried holding my phone, keys and wallet in my pocket which is hard because yo have to hold handles down to keep going, otherwise your cart will stop. The only way this ride is bad is if the person ahead of you pulls the brakes and you have to stop or go slow behind them. With that in mind, I would let people go before me if I saw small kids or nervous people that might panic and pull the brakes.

Horrible experience! We visited on February 18th around 930 in the evening. My husband and daughter road together in one car. After starting up the hill, the car stalled several times and then started back up, only moving 20ft at a time. After their car arrived to the top of the hill, the coaster lost all power. Lights went out on the coaster and also on the tracks. The belt propelling cars up the hill started making a grinding and cranking noise and the cart also started tipping over to the side!! After an hour of sitting in pitch black darkness stranded at the top of the mountain on this coaster, staff arrived with a Ridgeline pickup to take them back down the mountain. All the meanwhile, no one communicated to the patrons what was happening during the ordeal. I received several frightening phone calls from my daughter and husband with my child very tearful and fearful that her life was endangered! And to try calling to staff at the location was impossible, all you got was a recording! Once my husband and daughter were freed from the car, they were thrown into the back of this pickup and driven recklessly back down the hill. There was no explanation, no apology, nothing for this life altering experience!!! The staff did refund the ride only after my husband and several other stranded customers requested one. This was one scary situation that you do not want to get yourself or your family into! Save your money and drive 5 more minutes down Wears Valley Road to visit Goats on a Roof mountain coaster! We have visited Goats on a Roof for several years now and have never once had a bad experience! Do not risk your life on this ride!
