The park is great The picnic area is amazing I would give it five stars but we were there at one of the pavilions cooking on the grill and a park member staff person came and started yelling at us that we had to move because someone had "reserved" that pavilion that day. He told us we had to move to the other pavilion that was empty and finished cooking there. Tell me how we were supposed to move our charcoal to the other pavilion to finish cooking. He was so rude and so loud and unprofessional. I understand they "reserved" That pavilion but if we're already there cooking could they not have used the other one that was empty? Especially when every sign with the rules written on it, the number one rule is first come first serve. It could have been handled a lot better. We would have happily moved after we finished cooking and not had a problem with that at all had he came and told us nicely that someone had reserved that one instead of coming in yelling. We did move just to clarify but the whole situation was done...
Read moreThis is an excellent park for the kids. My girls had a blast and didn't want to leave. The equipment is modern and very interactive. There are two parks on opposite ends of the park. In addition to play areas it has educational things as well. There's swings, seesaw, slides, climbing ropes, rings, monkey bars, and interactive pieces. It's also heavily padded in all play areas which is nice. Both parks are enclosed by a fence to contain the kids in the play area. It has a nice outbuilding with modern clean bathrooms. There is also a nice nature trail around the perimeter of this large park. There's picnic table pavilions and basketball courts. Lots of open spaces and numerous shaded areas. This really is a gem of a park. I highly recommend a visit if you have kids. All this for free with free parking. Pigeon Forge can be very expensive so this park is a nice break from the...
Read moreNice playgrounds for the kids, to give the wallet a slight break from the wealth of paid attractions on the Pigeon Forge strip, worth at least an hour - more if you take a picnic lunch. The shelters (one at each end of the area we visited) provide good shade, with plenty of picnic tables. The awnings covering one of the playgrounds provided great shade, though the second playground at the opposite side of the field was uncovered, and so the equipment was too hot to the touch on this July mid-morning. The playground surfaces were that squishy asphalt material, with the surface of the awning-covered playground additionally covered with artificial turf, which was a nice touch. There was a set of basketball courts between the two playgrounds, and a football field next to the non-shaded playground.
Bathrooms are available a short walk from the...
