I'm scared of HEIGHTS, LOL! Imagine me coming here. My Daughter asked me to come, that's all that needed to B said. It is absolutely amazing!! A lot of work went into this CUT-THROUGH. My Daughter & 2 eldest Grandsons had purchased locks, put their initials on them, & placed them not 3 weeks before I went there. As I was there, a couple of Maintenance Men were walking to the cage with bolt cutters. So I said, what ya all doing? They said their BOSS was giving them the ultimatum to cut the locks, or lose their jobs!! There was nothing wrong with the locks on the cage. Several people had done it. The bartender at Dueling Barrels recommended, and we are glad that we explored! The drive up to the overlook is a bit of an adventure; it has the expected incline, and then TWO very very steep incline segments. I give one star because there is zero notice the overlook is closed anywhere in the park. Nothing. You get all the way up and find yourself face to face with dump trucks 🚚 on a narrow road!
I even looked this up online on the Pikeville welcome center site and again.... No info to let visitors know...
