Peking Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Pikeville

I have eaten at this restaurant quite often, and the food on the buffet is very fresh and not dried out except when they have fried fish, usually on the dinner buffet. The fish was rubbery, with a strange taste to it. The buffet offers a great salad bar and desert bar to compliment the hot bar. There is also a variety of ice creams in a freezer to choose from. The waiters and waitresses have always been very nice, and the service is top-notch! The restaurant doesn't offer much of an atmosphere, but they do have two televisions, usually one for the kids and one for the adults. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant due to the selection of food they offer. I would, however, like to see them offer more dishes involving seafood, in particular crab meat and shrimp. Love the food here at Peking! I have been a customer there from the start. The variety is diverse, the quality is top notch and everyone that works there is always so nice and talkative. You kinda feel like you belong when you walk in.

I always get my food to go and fill up my box, until I almost can't close the lid. I usually get enough that, I have lunch and dinner. It's a little more costly than your basic fast food, but the quality is worth it.

The only thing stopping me from giving this a 5 star? I could be wrong, but sometimes it seems like the food in the buffet, has been there all day long. On occasion, some of the food was stale, or chewy, but I never let that stop me from eating there.

If you like this type of food, Peking is the place to go. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Even writing this review, makes me hungry just...

Used to like the place..but the Manager or whatever he is ruined our meal.My Husband Daughter Son and law and 2 grandsons went this past weekend .My grandsons are 3-5 .My daughter had already gotten them food and brought with her because the kids are very picky and have not wanted to try the Chinese food.The manager informed us they don't do sharing even for kids ..no matter the age ..We told them if the kids decided to try anything we would pay for it .But He stood and watched our table the whole time we were there ..constantly reminding us NO Sharing ...The Kids were not interested in the food..and By his constant glares we weren't either ..Very little eaten by anyone and we paid and left .And have NO DESIRE to ever return ..BTW ...You want Kids to grow Into adults who like Your Food ..DON"T BE...
