My husband's computer needed a new CPU fan, and he also wanted more storage. The price for the work itself was reasonable. The work was done and the new fan must work, and we are glad to have the extra storage. They were also polite and professional.
However, it took longer than I'd hoped (partly due to a phone number issue, but they also had my email address) to get a quote to authorize the work. The evaluation fee they charge was a little frustrating since I knew and reported what the problem was but it was work I wasn't comfortable doing. What they needed to "evaluate" I don't get. And it was more than a week, not three business days. But whatever.
My biggest concern with the work done was that they installed software without my permission, saying it was a "courtesy." The computer has Windows 8 and even though we've used it happily for more than four years they felt the need to add a start menu. That just did not sit right with me. That's like going to the dentist to get a root canal and getting some braces added without permission. That was what knocked two stars off my review.
I would still go back if a repair was beyond my ability, but this experience really motivated me to spend more time playing with the old PC down in the basement and learn to do this stuff myself. On the other hand, computers are expensive, and it's a difficult skill to learn. They do know what they are doing!

The price was then changed to 69.95 shortly afterward due to it being a gaming computer. I was told that it would most likely be Monday before they looked at it. Tuesday morning I called to check the status and was told that they were checking it and they should have answers that afternoon or maybe the next morning. Wednesday I called at 4:30 to find out the status and was told that they still weren’t done checking it. At that point I was upset as I need my computer for work. I asked how much longer and was told I signed a paper saying it would be 3-5 days to do diagnostics. I told them I needed it so I needed to come get it. I was told it would be 29.95 if I got it “now” and that I would be wasting my money as it was almost done. When I asked how much longer, she couldn’t tell me and said she would call the next day. I told her that would be another wasted day as she can’t call while I work. She was rude and just said then come get it. It will be 59.95. I said no, you just told me 29.95, you are changing the price on me, you can’t do that. She said “if you want your computer, it’s 59.95, he’s almost done, come get it and hung up on me”. Read moreMy computer was making a strange noise and running at 100% on the CPU so I brought it in for a diagnosis. They did a good job at figuring out the issue which I paid for expedited service for because it was a week day and I need my computer for work. My main issue is that I paid for my computer to be "cleaned" and in the notes it said the front cover could not be taken off due to "clips, etc.." After seeing that and knowing a good bit about computers I knew that was incorrect and with a simple pull from the bottom it pops right off. I decided to fix the CPU cooler myself.. Seemed like it was a quick rush to just take my money and move on to something else.
Updated to a one star: The fact that u took the time to verbally try to scare me and others into leaving a better review is pathetic. If you are “the best of the best” a “professional” then why waste countless hours writing responses on reviews. Any good business doesn’t have the time or need to do that.
