I called Painting With a Twist on Monday, May 12th, 2025, to schedule a fun night of painting with my mother who was in town for the week of Mother's Day. A woman answered the phone but I could not make out what she said as her voice was mumbled. It sounded like she said her name was Jessica. When I asked for clarification as to who I was speaking to, she responded "This is someone from Painting With a Twist" and "Where are you calling from and what are you calling about!? in a rude, and condescending manner.
I've never called a business and been met with such immediate hostility before in my life as a consumer. I can only imagine the painting and wine sipping environment must be just as unwelcoming.
I asked to speak with a manager. The woman replied, "I am the manager!" and the phone disconnected. When I called back the woman told me she intentionally hung up on me and the phone was not disconnected. Wow... I asked to speak with the general manager or her immediate supervisor. She replied, "My name is Mystique and I am the owner! Where are you calling from and what are you calling about!?" When I started to speak Mystique hung up the phone on me again...
First she was the manager then she was the owner?
I won't ever step foot into Painting With a Twist until this massive failure of customer service is resolved. I will make sure to share my negative experience with everyone I know here in...
Read moreWhat a wonderful experience. From start to finish this was a great experience. I took my granddaughter to a painting with a twist for the family. This is the first time that I have ever been to painting with a twist and it is the first time that I have attempted to paint on canvas. We checked in early and the staff was so helpful and she helped me with my granddaughter getting her smock on. From the start of the class she explained everything step by step and it walked around and assisted us if we had an issue. One thing I would like to comment on is I made a mistake and painted in the wrong area because I didn't follow the directions but she came by and assisted me and we were able to resolve what I had painted by accident. What she did was had a hair dryer so you could try the paint and then I simply painted it over it. I wish I would have got the name of the instructor because she was so patient with my granddaughter and really made a big effort to help her with her painting. There was a mother with two children and they allowed her to assist in supervise while the two children were painting which was nice. The other thing is you can make the painting anyway you want and it was encouraged for you to have your own thoughts or artistic ideas on the canvas. I am planning on coming again and I want to thank painting with a twist for a wonderful afternoon with my...
Read moreThe concept is always fun and the night had potential however, Scott the instructor rubbed me the wrong way. His humor and character is unique and as it might come across okay for some, I did not think some of his comments were necessary. The night was okay overall however I was constantly a step behind because the teaching moves so fast and when I didn't realize I missed a step he made me feel discouraged because my painting was not as far as it should have been. He continued to comment how my mood had changed and would make comments how I was doing something wrong. This is supposed to be a fun atmosphere but his comments just started to get to me after several attempts. I understand there is a technique to this stuff but let people complete the painting in their own ways; we're not artists. The pace was too fast for this painting and In my honest opinion if the instructor believes he cant teach a class with a particular painting in 2 hours then another canvas print should be decided. Overall the place has potential and Its not like I wont be back but the comments of the instructor came across rude and he made everyone feel rushed to get out of there...
