Johnson Park is a fantastic destination for anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors. Nestled along the banks of the Raritan River, the park offers a beautiful and tranquil setting that’s perfect for a wide range of activities.

The park is expansive and well-maintained, with plenty of open spaces for picnics, sports, and leisurely strolls. There are several playgrounds throughout the park, providing endless entertainment for children. The walking and biking paths are extensive and well-paved, making them ideal for both casual walkers and serious cyclists.

One of the highlights of Johnson Park is its zoo, which is home to a variety of animals that delight visitors of all ages. It’s a wonderful place to take the family and spend the day exploring and learning about the different species. The park also features historical sites and buildings that add an educational element to your visit.

Fishing and boating on the Raritan River are popular activities here, and the park’s proximity to the water adds a refreshing touch to the overall experience. The picnic areas are well-equipped with tables and grills, making it easy to enjoy a meal outdoors.

Overall, Johnson Park is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature. Its combination of recreational facilities, beautiful scenery, and family-friendly amenities make it a top choice...

This park is great for a lovely stroll along the river, and it's a five minute walk from the Busch Campus Visitor Center. The park is made up of wide paths through grass, interspersed with verandas on the river, often with picnic tables. The railings by the river are made with environmentally friendly and recycled materials. There's plenty of space to hold events, barbeques, picnics, and games, and plenty of spaces to sit and enjoy. There's a small zoo with animals from alpacas to peafowl, though the animals are only interested in food. Watch out for the turkey; they'll peck if they get the chance. I like that the animals are so used to all kinds of passerby, including other animals that it's a good exposure opportunity for pets. The park also seems like a good place for running, biking, and field sports. Ecological and environmental analysis work also gets done by the banks by Rutgers biology and parasitology students, which means the park is contributing to local...

Johnson Park is a very nice and big park. It has lots of space, grill stations, benches, and free parking, safer side bring portable grill. There are many cans for recycling and trash, but no special cans for hot coals. Throwing hot coals in the trash can be dangerous as it may cause a fire. If the authorities want people to put water on the ash before throwing it away, it could make a mess. The park also has a playground for kids. I'm very happy with the park facilities. Regarding the washrooms, they are okay, but parents need to help their kids because the flush is hard to press. Don’t be surprised if the washrooms are dirty; parents, please help your kids instead of leaving the toilets dirty.
