New York Nails — Attraction in Pittsburgh

I was disappointed. I had had services done in get past with which I was pleased, which was why I made the appointments for my daughter and I here. This time though, not so much. Our appointment was at 1:30. When we entered I was looking around for someone as if I did in fact need help. More than one of the employees made eye contact with me but did not speak to me. Finally, we were both seated and each told our tech what we wanted. My daughter's nails turned out great, with the color(s) and design she requested. My tech asked me what color I chose and I told her I definitely wanted #150 and another color but I hadn't picked the second yet. She sat and began to polish (it was gel polish btw). When she got to the fourth nail and none were left for another color I politely stopped her and told her no, I wanted another color. She sighed, heavily. Got the nail sample colors and tossed them at me. I picked a second and then she started to take off the polish she had already out on. I stopped her once again, telling her that I only wanted the second color on one nail. She sighed, again, but continued. As she was finishing with the polish I asked if I could get a simple design/something on the nail polished different than the others. She acknowledged my request but didn't say anything. I saw her grab small polish bottles in random colors and she made a design on both nails, did not ask what I wanted, preferred, or liked. When she finished I looked at them but was rushed to get my hand into the dryer. I dried for 3 min, paid, and left. As my daughter and I walked outside into the sun I looked again at my nails and the design she had made did not include either of the colors of the polish on me, and didn't match at all! I went back into the salon, nicely pointed it out to the receptionist and she waved another tech over. They got the attention of the girl who did mine, she say me down, again, and asked what was wrong. I showed her and said that the colors in the design didn't match. She responded, in a snarky tone, "well, u didn't know what u wanted the whole time anyway. " I did, but I ether here nor there I did not appreciate the response she gave or the tone used. She had an attitude the entire time and was very ignorant/rude. Now, 2 days later, after paying $50 for my gel polished nails (and a tip) the polish...

DO NOT COME TO THIS NAIL SPA! I should have taken note by the way the receptionist answered the phone and scheduled my appointment. However, my friend gets her nails done here and recommended KENNY. I regret spending my money here. The quality of service I received was so poor I literally could have cried for wasting $40. Kenny is very rough when using the electric nail drills/bits and I’m surprised he didn’t break my nails or cut me. He didn’t even cut my cuticles and I asked for a manicure. His technique is so poor when it comes to painting nails and finishing them with the Electric file. I had to request that he file them evenly because their was so much powder layered on my nails, they did not look natural. He spent the time debating with me that because the powder had sparkles in it that he could not smooth them over with the nail drill. Which is a lie. I told him I’ve had it done before and know this isn’t a job well done. He clearly could tell I was unhappy since he wouldn’t sand them down more so they could looks natural, so he spent the time trying to make conversation with me but at this point he had talked his way out of a tip for poor customer service to begin with and horrible technique. I was very DISAPPOINTED to say the least and would recommend that no one receives service from him as he is lazy and very unprofessional. I went home and fixed my...

Pay attention next time you go. They are 100% racist! They will smile in your face then rip you off. And Only people of color that's why I assume they are racist... Anywho.. I'm from homestead so I'm familiar with them. I haven't lived in the area for over a decade. Just recently moved back from oakmont... well today I walked out with a pedi and eyebrows and paid 64!!!! No gel polish... but I got French tip... Pretip... well I watched several yt people pay $80 for a pedi and manicure ? $80 and they received gel? The math isn't mathing.. I'm not the brightest but I do have some college background.. work as a nurse... plus just common sense.. prices are outrageous... I'm sure they are racist... The establishment is filthy, outdated.. paint chipping, dust everywhere.... not organized or decorated well. ( I would assume a male runs it) .. oh they didn't even use callus shaver... even if their prices were dropped to a reasonable price, I still wouldn't go back. It's disgusting in there.... and im honestly surprised the amount of good reviews they have....
