Deli is rarely open at times when it makes sense. When it is open it seems as if itâs always âtemporarily closedâ for someone to take a break. There was a sign on the counter, very small sign that said âclosedâ in all lowercase letters, today, Saturday June 21 at 11am. WHY. If someone is taking a break then a manager needs to do their job as a manager and step in and make sure someone is there at all times to provide service. This is inexcusable. Why bother having a deli at all? This happens almost all the time Iâve ever gone there. 11 am on a Saturday, 4:30 on a weekday, 2pm on a Sunday. When itâs open itâs amazing. Meat is usually cut as you request, and the staff have been nice. Itâs just that you cannot trust this place to have an open deli when you arrive.
They have one of those pre-cut deli cases in the deli area, but they NEVER have what I need. I need half a pound of lite turkey thatâs chipped thin. All they have is a pound of sliced turkey. I hate sliced turkey. Plus all of the turkey needs to be consumed within three days or it goes bad. On the rare times I absolutely NEED to get turkey and I have to get the sliced stuff you HAVE to look at the day it was cut. I went to this place last week after work on the 18th, and it was closed of course, and all they had was turkey cut on the 17th and the 15th. That stuff form the 15th is going to be bad. Hint: if turkey is going bad it smells like coffee.
Iâm sorry if youâve hired people that donât show up for their shifts. Fire them. Have managers staff the counter until you can get reliable people. Thatâs what theyâre paid for. This place has been open forever and it would be a shame to see it close due to inadequate and lazy staffing.
Also, donât hire staff who will yell at or argue with customers who are already upset. Thatâs what gets you one star reviews on Google. All I wanted was three things from the deli. Instead of apologizing and offering to fill my order you get a bad review and a lifelong customer who will not shop...

A lot of people pretty vapid and annoying. This Latest negative episode happened about a Week Ago. I asked my cashier something simple and the guy who is bagging had to interfere and turn it into an epic Nightmare. The half wit told me he was defending the cashier who wasn't under attack so i'm not sure what he was defending her from. Then he kept saying You have a nice day. I don't need this kind of toxic People and experiences everywhere I go, Especially at a supermarket. There was another episode with a checkout man who said that he just moved back here from germany and the thai move really quickly and I was moving too slow for him. I then proceeded to move even slower. How do they even hire some of these Clueless people? I did tell that man that I live in america not germany. He did seem upset about that comment and I can't...
Read moreBack in the 1970's, this was considered one of the larger Giant Eagle stores, and was open 24/7. Today, it is a small neighborhood store, compared to the rest. This store doesn't have the selection that the newer, larger Giant Eagles have. For the amount of volume that they get, you would think that they would have updated it by now. But, with the Larger Sq Hill, and Homestead/Waterfront stores within distance, this Giant Eagle Location may get sold off, eventually. These days, I do most of my grocery shopping at Walmart, and Aldi stores, because their prices a much lower than Giant Eagle. Giant Eagle is a fairly large corporation with 216 supermarkets, 202 GetGo stores, 56 Ricker's stores. They purchase food items from their suppliers in large quantities, at lower cost to them. Their grocery prices don't need to be as high as they are. They are simply overcharging their customers to maximize profits. It's...
