Beautiful trail. 4 stars only because the section from the over pass over rt 1 to the section that crosses Washington Rd elm allée got messed up really badly by hurricane Henry. That's about 6 miles of really big bumpy rocks, fine sand and even a section of land slided road with a huge crater and broken asphalt. Very difficult up walk that section and even harder to bike. The crater near the land slide is the worst by far. Those whole 6 miles are pretty rough, but are the only part I've seen that got really messed up. The state needs still needs to fix it as of fall 2021. Everything north and south of that is still gorgeous and very easy to enjoy waking, running or biking. Lots of nature and water. Really cool info signs about the history of the trail and good fishing spots. Mile markers and pedestrian crossings are also...
Read moreGreat place for trekking/running/cycling. A fairly easy path for a brisk walk surrounded on both sides by water. A real tranquil place. Very therapeutic. Found folks conoeing as well. Look like a great spot for non motor water related activities. The foliage now (fall) is spectacular and a natures show at its best. Parking is very limited, which is a bummer. Had to wait for a few minutes before some one pulled out of the park to take their place to park. Other than that, a spectacular place to visit with family,...
Read moreScenic trail that parallels a canal. The trail is mostly dirt and some sections of coblestone. The stone may be tricky to bike over. There are benches to sitdown along the trail. Ideal spot for fishing or seeing wildlife in the water. Either the canal or Carnegie Lake. Recommend getting their early if driving to get parking. I've enjoyed on many occassions riding my bike up and down the trail. Princeton is in the area for a bite to eat or browse...
