Yikes! First off, Melvin was great and very helpful but this location needs some help. Our room wasn’t ready until 4:45pm. Manager insisted we reserved a studio until she looked more closely and realized *shockingly* we were correct in saying we reserved a one bedroom. Once we finally got into our room the bathtub was disgusting. We made sure we requested a tub so we could give our baby a bath but no one should be bathing in this tub (photos included). And even if you wanted to you couldn’t. The stopper didn’t work and the drain was filled with long black hair. The temperature of the water didn’t get hot. Lukewarm at best. Lots of things in this hotel are clearly being renovated but it’s being done so sloppy. All the materials still have all the stickers still on them. Like, if you go in the bathroom by the pool all the parts have the huge retail stickers on them and the light fixture in the room still has the instruction stickers on it. Also, all the tile floors seem to be new but they haven’t been finished properly and are all scuffed and grout-y. Which is such a sad waste because they are clearly new! Breakfast was pretty good! Coffee, cereal, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, tater tots, bagel's, toast… the usuals! There’s a lot of potential here especially with the renovations but as it is right now… not good at all. Side note… try A2B next door! Delicious food!

The heady aroma of curry was unmistakable and would be great if I was walking into a restaurant. Since I was walking into my hotel for the evening I found it unpleasant. Then I heard multiple families with small children crying and I realized I was staying at a Homewoods Suites that catered to families and had kitchens. Checking my watch I realized was stuck for the night because to drive back home and then to Princeton for a 7 am meeting was not the leisurely commute I planned by staying in a hotel at my own expense to begin with. Ugh. I would hit the melatonin, sleep early to ensure a successful departure. Then I saw the tawdry carpeting, the dirty and worn everything and had to keep my anxiety in check. I knew there was nothing in this property that would be clean enough for me to be comfortable. As the elevator opened, there was a huge crack on the floor and lighting from the 90s? Chipped and.missing paint, stains every where and one star housekeeping. The air freshener in the room was sickening and the first thing I did was open the window grateful for small mercies that there was even a window. The bathroom floor was sticky. it goes without saying the walls were thin, so thin i could hear a cough from the room next door. An ordinary cough. Do not stay here unless you have a high threshold for Ick.

I would certainly stay here again. Our room was comfortable and quiet. I heard no noise from Route 1 nor any of our neighbors. We made friends with the family across the hall and the hotel let us do a late checkout. This place gets busy on the weekends so the breakfast was still pretty good but the weekday breakfast was even better including grilled veggies to eat with our eggs. A couple minor complaints would be to offer non-pork options for families with dietary restrictions and also I don’t know if it is legal in NJ, but we were greeted with the smell of marijuana outside the front main entry of the hotel and I noticed one guest and his companion / spouse several times smoking a large blunt right outside the side door to the parking lot. All of the staff were super helpful and hard working. The fellow longer hair who helps out with maintenance and guest service I spoke with around midnight and he was back working the next morning. I personally would avoid staying on the first floor it seems like it gets a ton of traffic either to and from the lobby or to the pool. We stayed on the fourth floor with no issue, I need the exercise. The suites on the far end x40 and x41 are much larger than a standard room but the bedroom is not isolated from the rest of the space but the rest room is.

I stayed there from 1-8-2019 till 1-30-2019 it was the worst period of our life some of the staff in the lobby was nice like 2 off 20 or more they knew that i have 3 kids and we are staying for a long term so I advise them to place us in a place with families that have kids if my kids cry they will call us if my kids play with loud noises they will knock on the door my kids are 4 year old and 2 (twins) 1 year old they keep complaining about them like i have a mute button for them ! And when i go down to get dinner with the kids one of the staff members said “ those stupid kids with there parents need to get out” he didnt know that i was there mother that’s number one not kids friendly Number 2 : they had a pool that was working the pool had an electric issue so they had to relocate us in another hotel with the 3 kids and our stuff then came back the next day and later on a flood at 12:45 am happened and they told us to go to our cars at 0 degrees out with my sleepy kids and waited till the fire department left and go back up to our rooms Number 3 the lovely staff when the guy said that about my kids i will let my husband go downstairs to get me food and eat it in the room the dinner start at 5-7 so one day he was getting food for me the lady said no u took one time 2 boxes “ when we are 5 people so we should get 5 boxes “ thats enough for you guys u can wait till 7 pm what ever leftovers u can take !!!Like seriously 😐 we will eat leftovers that was rude and btw your drinking policy “wine beer and alcohol beverages are free” and we have to pay for soda!! And to make sure that you guys know again NOT KIDS FRIENDLY not even juice for kids or people like me who dont drink Number 4 house keeping i had to clean my own room and vacuum it couple times because house keeping didnt even bother to come i pick up the trash and drop it down and clean my own sheets and its a big big deal to get crep sheets and of u asked for cover or bottles of water they will tell u come downstairs to pick it up am the only one like seriously if i can come downstairs why would I call you ! For who ever reading this make sure u see the rooms first look at the bathroom for mold and i got electrocuted 4 times in the room the dishwasher doesn’t clean and the AC works with his own mind the tv is ok the beds is fine as well but my only complaint about the beds they need to be aired out every now and then and your covers need to be changed daily and beds need to be changed as a whole every day not when i asked for it to be changed you food menu need to have more choices for people who dont eat pork or drink wine it should serve everyone and as a buffet people can eat more...

I normally do not write reviews unless I have a wonderful (or horrible) experience. We are business travelers and have an office in Princeton, NJ. During the months of February-April we stay for extended periods or time at our “base” hotel. We have used several Hilton properties in the past years, and since covid have found these “other” properties lacking in service and disappointing. This season we have tried Homewood Suites at Hilton and are extremely pleased. Yes, this hotel is “UNDER RENOVATION” at the current moment, and it is clearly stated on the website and when confirming the booking, so there should be no surprises when you check in. With that said, we stayed in both the non-renovated rooms at the beginning of the season, and yes, they are tired (hence renovations) and the newly renovated rooms recently. No matter which rooms, all the stays, the rooms were very clean, housekeeping is consistent every other day (you can ask for daily service, but we do not need it). Staff is extremely friendly, helpful and also consistent. Sandy, the hotel manager, Alyssa- front desk, Gloria- breakfast area, they are always there to greet you with a smile and helpful. ALL the other staff are the same, friendly, smiling, and helpful. There are just too many for me to name all. But kudos to all of you! The main reason for my review is to commend all the staff for their professionalism and help. As said, we stay for extended periods of time, and with that, of course, there are going to be some issues. I will not state the issues because they are less important than how they were handled. When I had an issue, I addressed this with the staff, it was immediately resolved. Sandy, nor her staff, made me feel as if I was complaining, but in fact, welcomed the feedback. In my opinion, the way a concern is handled is much more important than the concern. This shows the respect, or lack of, for the client. I have stayed at other Hilton properties in the Princeton area, and have had worse issues. Those managers assured me it would be taken care of but completely ignored them and never followed up on the promises. This is NOT the case at Homewood Suites. My recommendation to anyone staying, please REMEMBER that at this time they are undergoing RENOVATIONS, some services will be compromised (gym, pool, etc) give them a bit of slack and be respectful. The staff will address your concerns. I am looking forward to the next season when the hotel’s renovations will be completed, and to again see the smiling faces of the Homewood Suites staff. KUDOS TO ALL...

2.5 stars:

Positives: The 2 Queen Bed suites had a nice layout where the bedrooms are all pitch-black dark when shuttered. Good lighting by bathroom sink. Indoor pool & hot tub was fairly clean & not crowded in the afternoons. Location for us was key as it was the closest hotel to the Princeton Junction train station. Evening Social provided Mon-Thurs 5pm-7pm includes wine & beer.

Negatives: -Walls & ceilings/floors are thin. Building seems to not have been constructed of good materials & proper insulation. If not on the top floor (4th), then you hear every step upstairs. Also the walls are so thin that in the living room, I could hear next door's music playing as well as their phone conversation. In the bedroom you can hear the toilets flushing & sinks next door. To boot, I was awoken at 3:40am by the couple next door having "relations" as the woman was pretty vocal. Although they offer tea, coffee & water 24 hrs a day, they do not keep the light on in that room. You have to really know what you want & where things are because you can't read labels in the dark. Housekeeping was supposedly much improved since they were getting QC'd when I was there which was having the room turnover take longer. However, I found them to be unresponsive when missing items in my room and requesting things. Ex: There was a fly in my 2nd room that I tried to kill but after flying around a bit, would then disappear. I asked the front desk for fly paper or the likes, and at 1st they wanted to call engineering (?!), but after I told them I didn't want engineering I just wanted some fly paper, they said housekeeping would come with that item. 4.5 hrs later, no response. I ended up trapping it in the bathroom & killing it myself. Beds not firm & furniture (especially the room chairs) have stains & look very very used. The complimentary shuttle to the train station does not start until 9am. We didn't like the layout of the hotel compared to the Staybridge Suites in Cranbury, since elevators and lobby were not as convenient depending on the room location. Room inconsistencies like in our 1st room (226), we had an alarm clock in the bedroom and 1 pot & 1 pan. In the 2nd room (426), there was no alarm clock & only 1 pan. Elevator smells dank. Fitness room has 1 treadmill, 1 bike, & 1 elliptical. Complimentary access to a Retro Fitness is...
