It's a chain pet store. So there's not too much raving or unique details I can say. I was unhappy with my last experience because they had a product listed for clearance on the Shelf and after waiting in line for quite some time they told me that it should not have been on clearance. The thing is it wasn't like someone picked up an item and put it down in the clearance section, this particular item had a clearance sticker over the original sticker with the clearance price clearly stated. I would have argued my point but since they typically have no more than one line open there are several customers waiting and I didn't want to cause them and undue Delay So I just left the item there. I have both dogs and cats and my dogs are all giant breeds, three of them and unfortunately PetSmart is like most pet stores and seem to cater to small dogs which apparently are more popular. If I try to find a collar or a harness or even an appropriate toy for any of my dogs they never have it. I have gone there on numerous occasions looking for a collar for one of my dogs and they have small medium and occasionally one large even though there are empty spaces for extra large and extra extra large, they simply don't stock it same is true with dog crates and other supplies that a large breed dog or a puppy that will grow into a large breed dog would need. As far as cat supplies they are often out of stock on many of the items I use. I have come to use the buy online and pick-up in store option, and on more than one occasion I purchased an item then later went to pick it up and when I got there they told me the item was out of stock and they could not put my order together. I would have appreciated an email, text message, or phone call letting me know so I wouldn't have made the trip. There's no reason they could not notify me telling me the item wasn't in stock. Unfortunately it is the only pet store near me so if I need something that I can't wait to arrive from an online order then that's where I have to go unless I want to drive...
Read moreI’m pretty disappointed in this location. I was at another Petsmart location working on training my Service Dog with his off leash required tasks. I asked the manager and he said that it was no problem at all. I came to this location and was disrespected by an employee by rudely saying “you need to hang on to the leash” and as someone with a disability it was very uncomfortable to be spoken to so rudely by staff here. Even though my dog is fully SD trained I choose not to advertise this with a vest and all dogs need to practice new and old tasks. While my dog failed a down/stay and approached me to signal a task, she passed by us telling me to hold his leash; not only am I a completely understanding person but I wasn’t informed to this stores leash policy. Unfortunately, my dog was distracted by this interruption which also disconnected him from his job resulting in my disability being triggered without my SD able to complete his task. As a well mannered citizen I expect the same respect from others and that is not what I received at this location. I didn’t respond to her negativity as I knew I would be contacting this location to report this. The ADA allows my dog to be with me by law as well as perform tasks without his leash as it can cause injury to me as well as my SD. I felt like my dog was being hindered from performing just so that I could avoid confrontation from this woman. The Berlin and Manchester locations have not only friendlier employees but more attentive staff as well. The only person that was friendly was the cashier. It’s very sad that a person with a disability, visible or not, and SD can’t be given respect by a Petsmart employee. Where is your compassion for animals and their handlers? I will be calling the establishment to inform them of...
Read moreI work at a competitor chain pet store, but i always like to look in other stores just to check them out and specifically see other store's selection of fish and live animals, as mine is limited. I casually came in and went straight for the fish tanks, and I was very dissapointed. I understand how hard it is to keep so many tanks looking good, but all the tanks looked very bad. Glass was so dirty on some that i could barely see the fish inside and they have VERY small spaces for each group of fish, (even very large fish) even for a short period of time. Overall they looked like they were not well taken care of and there were two emplyees standing next to them the entire time.I would never buy a fish from there. When I went to see the small animals (hamster etc) the enclosures looked pretty good but the reptiles made me upset. Again, some glass was so dirty that i could not even see the reptile inside, the very small cages were overstocked with inhabitants, specifically the baby bearded dragons, very small spaces for the snakes aswell. Something that bothered me the most was the Ball Pythons. I don't know a huge amount about snakes, but there were two in one enclosure (not sure if thats ok) and the one that was moving around looked EXTREMELY skinny, even for a baby snake. Overall the store was a bit chaotic but for a pet store I would expect the live animals in stock to be in the best condition they can...
