They say that pizza is like The Simpsons. Even when it’s bad it’s good.
Well, this is season 30.
Given that this place had an average of 4.2 stars, I’ll preface this by saying I’m willing to accept that they might’ve had somebody new working pizza on September 16th, 2025. I sure hope so, because this was, quite simply, the worst pizza I’ve ever had. Two pepperoni pies and a margherita. We ordered delivery, and live a decent distance from the location. I accept that this is going to cause me to have a different experience than if I had sat at a table. But cold pizza and bad pizza are not mutually exclusive in my eyes, and unfortunately, this was just bad pizza.
The pepperoni pie was acceptable enough. Not nearly good enough to be worth $26, but if I showed up to a party and it was being served, I wouldn’t complain to the hosts face. Just behind their back.
The margherita though….I struggle to accept that the margherita can even be considered pizza. The entire thing lacked integrity, both structurally, and in its audacity to consider itself worth $25. To lift a slice of the margherita was to witness its immediate and total surrender. A soupy deluge of sauce that flees the crust, leaving behind a slab of soggy dough that’s less a pizza and more a casualty. The sauce was extremely acidic and took over the entire flavor profile (which somehow didn’t affect the pepperoni pies, so props for that, I guess). Never before have I seen somebody somehow accomplish well-done to a crisp and light bake on the same pie. I don’t normally leave reviews - I save it for when something really makes me feel a type of way. So, here I am. I’ve had better experiences with Dominos, which is not a sentence anybody in the tri-state area should be saying, ever. Glad to have tried it, even happier to now know...

I just received a call from Joe, the CEO and he was extremely respectful, understanding, and even offered me a $100 gift card as an apology. He also stated that he was going to visit the Plainville restaurant to figure out where the issue has been occuring with the take-out orders.
Because of this excellent customer service, I changed my review to 5 stars. Joe, you've won us back.
As much as it pains me to write a negative review of one of my favorite local pizza places, after tonight's order, 3 strikes and you're out.
The pizza is either phenomenal or barely passes for pizza. Tonight's experience was just that.
3 out of the past 3 times I've ordered takeout, the pizza was so thin in the middle that it had the consistency of a saltine cracker...paper thin, crunch and no flavor.
Tonight was a mixture of bad--completely charred on one side (and I mean so charred, parts of it turned to ashes upon picking it up). The other side was undercooked and doughy, all while being paper thin and cracker-like, not to mention the large was the size of a medium.
My daughter's spaghetti portion was hysterical...so small that she had to make herself a 2nd dinner.
My family and I enjoy our Friday night tradition of having pizza as a family, but we can't always make it into the restaurant. We've never had an issue with the pizza when dining in but the past 3 times we ordered pick-up, it was very disappointing, especially for the price we pay.
Take-out orders should be set to the same standards as dining in. Unfortunately for Square Peg, you've lost a...
Read moreDrove by and noticed this place popped up, and being the pizzaholic that I am, I had to swing by for lunch. I am very glad I did. They do not offer lunch slices, but I was able to get the $10 lunch deal which includes a small cheese or pepperoni pizza and a fountain drink. The small cheese pizza was surprisingly filling and the taste was exactly what I was hoping for.
I called up when I had already pulled in and placed a quick takeout order, and it was ready in under 10 minutes which is essential for those trying to grab a quick bite on their lunch.
The only comparable pizza I’ve had was over a 40 minute drive away, and having a gem like this in town is a blessing for people like me who appreciate a good pie.
I will certainly be coming back, and will be recommending people I work with on the daily to come by too.
On top of all that, they have a really nice place inside. There is an arcade in back, they have a room for banquets and events, a bar, and plenty of seating. These guys deserve more traffic over...
