Absolutely terrible experience. Staff separated me from the small children I was with, causing the youngest to go into a true panic, leading to an asthma attack. When the employee stopped me in the haunted house tour saying I had gone the wrong direction I tried to explain that my goddaughters had just gone around the corner and that was afraid to go another direction fir fear of becoming separated. He insisted that the way he wanted me to go would “shortcut” to a place where I could intercept them, but the direction he forced me to go bypassed the entire last half of the tour putting me outside the exit. When I went back in the door the staff called security who physically forced me out of the granted house maze. The girls didn’t exit for another 10 minutes and the youngest was being carried by a kind woman who told me that my goddaughter had become hysterical and frightened and was sobbing uncontrollably because she couldn’t find me. Once I had calmed her down and things had settled a bit I asked to speak to the manager. I had waited nearly 20 minutes when a police car pulled up outside. The officer asked to speak to me outside where I learned that the staff person who had forced me out of the maze told his manager that I had pushed him and that I was dangerous.
I am sorry for such a long explanation but I cannot describe how poorly this situation was handled. I understand the importance of tight security, certainly, but security staff need to have listening skills as well as muscle... a parent or guardian should NEVER be physically forced to separate from their 8 year old child. They certainly shouldn’t be tricked into exiting the haunted house after becoming separated. I cannot express the feeling of helplessness and frustration I felt which was compounded exponentially by the staff’s utter incompetence in dealing with such a scenario. And businesses like this should be fined for wasting police time. To realize that during those 10 minutes of anguish (both my goddaughter’s and my own), worry, and panic, the only concern shown was towards me, with absolutely no regard for the situation, the child, or the fact that she and her sister were the only two people from our group of 20 who hadn’t emerged from the maze (fully 10 minutes after the rest of group had exited) is as unforgivable as it is completely preventable. All it would have taken to avoid the whole mess was to have allowed me to follow my kids (even if it wasn’t the way that they wanted). Every single one of the other people in our group of 20 had gone taken the same turn that I was taking...I was the last in the group because the girls had gotten frightened, slowing us down a bit. The girls had gotten 10 feet ahead of me and had just taken the turn when a person dressed in black stepped out of a nook and pointed me in the other direction. If that person would only have listened to me, or would have had any sense at all, he would have let me follow them and this would never have happened. If you go to this haunted house, you should be very wary of this, esp. if there is any chance your child might get scared. I wouldn’t go back to this place if it were free, frankly. Even though the experience was terrific up until we became separated, management’s handling was so outrageously inept and so unapologetic that all I can remember is how angry and helpless they...

My girlfriend and I had the incredible opportunity to visit Dark Hour Haunted House during the Texas Haunter’s Convention Tour, and this experience exceeded every expectation we had.
From the moment we stepped through the doors, it was clear—Dark Hour is in a league of its own. The show was deeply immersive, and the level of detail in the set design was absolutely mind-blowing. Every inch of the walkthrough was crafted with purpose and precision, transporting us into a world that felt theatrical, eerie, and totally alive. The pacing of the show was flawless, and each scene flowed naturally into the next, keeping us on edge and fully engaged from start to finish.
The actors were phenomenal—each performer delivered committed, high-energy scares and interactions that truly brought the environment to life. Whether it was the subtle tension of a slow approach or a perfectly timed startle, every moment felt intentional and professional.
And let’s just say it—Dark Hour also has the cleanest bathrooms we’ve ever seen at a haunted attraction. It might seem like a small detail, but it speaks volumes about the care and professionalism that goes into every part of the guest experience.
We also want to extend a huge thank-you to Allen and Shannon for being such gracious and welcoming hosts. Despite how busy the evening was, they took a few moments to chat and let us into their world. That small gesture meant so much to us. Their passion, generosity, and dedication to their craft shone through in every detail of the experience.
Whether you’re a lifelong haunt enthusiast or just dipping your toes into the world of immersive horror, Dark Hour is a must-see destination. It’s the perfect combination of artistry, adrenaline, and community—and we’re already looking forward to coming...
Read moreWe went on a Sunday the second week of October and it was very busy with the line outside snaking into 3 rows. However it moved pretty quickly (15 mins) and there were actors in line that you could take photos with. Just before we got into the building the line split into 2 for those who bought tickets online and those who bought them at the on-site ticket office. I recommend buying them online as we managed to jump in front of around 15 people who were waiting in the other line.
Once we got in there was another line where you took a photo with your group that you could purchase later, in was quick (5 mins) and they had this giant animatronic witch to keep you entertained.
There was one more line you had to wait in (15 mins) just before you could start the haunted house, but they did have a mini show on the stage which was quite entertaining. If you purchased fast past tickets you could skip this line, I'm not sure if you can skip the first line with the fast pass.
Going through the haunted house took around 15 - 20 minutes but it does depend on how quickly your moving. The rooms all have different themes and are decorated very well. The actors are amazing, have great makeup and do a good job of popping out of nowhere to scare you, sometimes multiple times in the same room. The entire time there are sound effects and/or music, and hearing other people who aren't in your group scream in the distance just adds to the atmosphere.
The only drawback when it's busy is that your group could catch up to another group or visa versa. We stopped and went a bit slower to keep our distance when we found that we had caught up to a slower group (or we were moving to fast).
Overall Dark Hour is excellent quality and I would definitely recommend you go...
