We stayed 6 nights at Drury Hotel, and here are some review on my stay, I just want to honestly indicate the Pros and cons based on my stay and expectation, and comparing to other hotels, I gave 4 Stars.
Pros :
Very nice staff, great welcome and perfect explanation about hotel and facilities. Rooms are clean, no odor. Free Breakfast was good, standard and same as similar hotels, waffle, pancake , scramble egg, potato, and a flat sausage, cereal , but no milk butter there were vegetable butter, Jam, Honey, and fruits, apple, banana. There is free Soda machine ( Coke, Sprite, etc…) , and Tea and coffee , and popcorn in the lobby which is absolutely a plus. Nice evening dinner ( 5:30 to 7:00 PM) , with free three alcoholic drinks for everyone per day, really a nice Plus. I liked the pulled pork, and the baked potato and the soup. hotdog was also a nice choice but of course not so healthy. Hotel private parking was a good plus , you can enter the parking with the room key and it is so convenient to access the room by elevator to the rooms. Awesome and Rapid Elevator, so quick which reduces the waiting time. Gym : was good , limited space, I used the treadmill and the weights. Washers : there are coin washers in the 6th floor which is a plus and awesome. A/C: No issue, was a quiet AC, only the problem was that it directly blow the air to the bed, which is sometimes not pleasant. TV: hundreds of channels. but no Netflix. USB and Socket beside the bed , is nice and comfortable for charging the cell phones Free WIFI : fast and very easy connect.
Cons:
Noise : although the view of the room number 1007 was so nice, but is so noisy , despite the double sided glasses still the noise of the cars is too much , and disturbing. some motorcycle or laud car noises may wake you up in the mid night. be prepared for that if you are sensitive to noise. Bed: Our bed was King size but I felt it is a little short in length, because I am not a tall man, ( I am 5.64) but my foots were at the end of the bed when i was sleeping!! , and I don't like soft mattress , and I usually like firm mattress. so the pillow and bed were not comfy for me. Room Cleaning : during 6 days , room cleaning happened only two times, but the room was clean in acceptable level. No cotton swab in the room, usually hotels have them in the room No wine glass or any glass in the room, only two paper coffee cups. No room's light control beside the bed, so you had to turn of the room lights manually by their switch, beside the room door. I didn't have the chance to use the Pools and hot tub, they were in 6th floor, but I saw people with their outside complete dirty dress inside the hot tub which means their dress completely was washed in that hot tub water and contaminated the water , so as I don't like to put my body in their washed dress water!! didn't have any interest to use it. may be I recommend to add a rule to use the pool and hot tub with only swim suit. It is not prestigious for a nice hotel to have broken toaster for breakfast ( which costs only 20 or 30 dollars to buy. The walls of Private Parking is recommended to be painted, to look like a hotel parking. Cement looking walls makes some different sense. I hope my review can help people to see what is the hotel details, or good as a feedback to hotel management to correct some of the cons to improve...
Read moreFirst of all, I would like to commend the staff at the Drury Plaza Hotel in Richardson, TX. The staff at the front desk, including the manager - I believe his name was Aaron - were outstanding for their customer service. There was one disappointing aspect of my stay, but the rest of the stay was outstanding.|My husband and I live near this hotel. We needed a vacation away from home, so I searched for the perfect hotel that would tick all the boxes. We wanted a king bed, so he wouldn't have to deal with me stealing the sheets, a suite, so we could have more space (we enjoy working on puzzles for fun) and, for me, windows. A view is always my number one. I once chose a house based on the large windows that let the sunlight in. We booked the stay for five nights and we couldn't wait. Upon check--in, my hopes were dashed when I entered a room more suited for my submariner husband than myself. Out window looked out on a concrete wall and a sign that said, "Pool Supplies". By coming near the window and craning your neck, I realized that our window was 10 feet away from a group of tables on the pool deck. My heart sunk. I thought that this was some kind of cruel trick. Our "quiet" getaway vanished. I went to the front desk and asked if we could be moved, but there were no more king suites. We were offered a queen suite, which, in retrospect, I should have accepted. I tried to put on a happy face for my husband, but inside I was angry that our privacy was destroyed by kids running up to our window to peer in, followed by their parents who came to get them. We got to know the pool man who appeared promptly every morning (not that he peered in, just that he walked by). The worst part was Saturday, when the pool was packed and we were forced to attend someone's pool party. Loud music blared all day. I finally said something to Aaron, who apologized and went out to speak to the "DJ" and ask him to turn the music down. That lasted about five minutes, until he left and the music went back up and a little louder. Finally, my husband called back as the music got louder, and it was addressed again.|My point is, a room should never have been put in this sub-optimal position. I can only imagine the number of people who, like myself, seethed at the unfairness of booking the most expensive room, only to be placed in the worst location in the hotel. That area should have been made into maintenance, housekeeping or storage. |The manager, Aaron, as I said before, was very kind and comped us a room for a future night's stay. This was kind, but I'm afraid I still think less of Drury for placing money over customer satisfaction. At the very least, those rooms should be specified as obstructed view, pool deck, so that people know, when they book, what they are...
Read moreI had to write this review as soon as I made it to my room , I'm extremely upset!
The rooms are great and comfortable! I only chose to stay here again because A few months ago I stayed at the new one in Arlington and it was TOP TIER! So I decided to stay at this location because I figured I'd have the same experience but to my surprise, It wasn't ! So I booked the room through Zip Pay and Expedia as I did my last Drury booking and it was a smooth check in process. I went to get checked in at this location and I was asked for a debit card, I asked was it for the 50$ deposit, he said yes and to pay for the entire stay, I asked him what for when this was booked through Expedia/Zip Pay and the payment was already taken care of. He kept going in circles with me saying oh no your room hasn't been paid for just reserved! I told him no sir, I've stayed at a Drury Hotel before and went through the same process and I only had to add my card for the 50$ hold, and showed my ID ONLY! The payment was already taken from Zip/Expedia so I was very upset that I had to deal with this after driving two hours to get here and have to experience them taking 326.83 + a 50$ hold off my card when the purchase was already taken care of before my arrival. "AGAIN THIS IS HOW I PAY FOR ALL OF MY HOTEL STAYS AND I HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED THIS BEFORE/ NOT EVEN AT MY LAST DRURY HOTEL STAY IN ARLINGTON! I did reach out to Expedia and Zip to get this taken care of, and they're reaching out to management to handle this. Also they have some complimentary alcoholic beverages here as well that comes with the stay, so the guy asked me, will there be two adults and two children I said yes. He then says what's the other parties name, I asked him what for, you want my children's name, I wasn't questioned about this at the last Drury hotel why at this one? He explained it was policy, (FOR THE OTHER ADULT ONLY) and they needed the name for the little cards to get a free alcoholic drink, I told him if I have to go through all that forget it, he then snatches the little card off the desk and add only ONE in the pouch instead of two for the free drinks. This will be my last stay here at this Drury this is so unprofessional of them to do this and for me, my husband, and children to have to have this experience here NEVER WILL I EVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE UNLESS THIS IS FIXED. THIS HAS ME HIGLY UPSET. NEXT TIME I WILL BOOK ELSE WHERE! IM STILL IN...
