We drove here from DC 2 day after Christmas, stayed the night before nearby since I heard that it could sell out pretty soon. We got there around 10 am (planned to be there for 9 am but kids). Now the worst part, There was a huge line snaking through the tunnel entrance and I patiently waited for few minutes. Some passerby talked to us and said this is not the line to be on to buy tickets. So I rushed through and got to the other side of the tunnel and stood in front a counter with a line of 20 ppl. Looking through the information board, I found out it's a fast food place and then located the actual place that sells tickets but then someone there said you could only buy if you have advanced reservation tokens and I could talk to the person in orange jacket. I spoke to one and got reservation tokens for 1 pm as all other previous slots were sold out. The long line I mentioned was standing with no purpose that slowly moves forward to talk to these people and get token but there were two or more of them and people could just circle around them and they were handing tokens left and right. Okay, I feel for the people waiting in that long line while missing out on getting the tokens as they fly.
Good part, we went back to car, ate some food and came back around noon and they offered whether we want to go in early but we will lose 20 mins coz it was 12:20. Thinking that the kids will never do the whole 3 hour, we bite in and went forward. It was so well organized from here on. People who slide down the hill gives up the tubes to the head of the line and goes back to the tail. This way, as people come in, get a chance to join the fun as soon as possible. We tubed down the hill 5 times in 30 mins and around 2:30 (2 hrs from start) we decided to head out. The double tube line was way less crowded than the singles (in singles I only did 1 ride in 20 mins). Also the trick is to walk to the far end track which is less crowded than the first couple.
The hill was long and steep so it was rather thrill and scary at times. Once I even came apart from the tube as the ride tapered down.
The weird part. Okay, people getting tokens for say 4 pm, 5 pm etc in the morning and head back to hotel or elsewhere may never show up leaving this idea of issuing tokens for all day in the morning stupid. Sold out board was up on the parking lot around noon but the parking lot was not entirely full and neither the tracks. Good for us as we were able to enjoy it but may be bad for the business or they may know what...
Read moreTo Management and Potential Visitors of Camelback Tubing,
( hi priced poor management )
I am writing to share our troubling experience at Camelback Tubing today. Our group of 13 people, including 10 children and 3 adults, came for a fun day but instead faced poor treatment from both management and their stationed police after an incident involving aggression from another individual.
Despite paying $100 per ticket for a 1 PM time slot, delays caused us to start late, but we moved forward without complaint. Shortly after beginning the activity, one of the children in our group was falsely accused of skipping the line. When we calmly explained this wasn’t the case, the accuser became violent, punching one of the adults in our group. The person who was hit immediately called the police for help, and staff intervened to stop the altercation. The police advised us to head down the mountain to address the situation.
Shockingly, instead of supporting the victims, management and the police advised two adults from our group to leave the park. This left me behind as the only adult with 10 children, forcing our group to leave altogether. We were also misled to believe that the aggressor was removed, but only our group was escorted out.
Being the person who organized and paid for this trip, I felt compelled to return to speak with management about my experience, my kids’ experience, and my concerns. Instead of addressing the matter, I was met with hostility, yelled at, and accused of trespassing. This dismissive and unprofessional behavior added to the frustration and distress caused by the incident.
While I cannot speak to the corporation’s position on race, I can confidently say that the workers, management, and stationed police involved acted in a way that felt hostile, unfair, and targeted toward our group.
I am not someone who typically writes reviews, but this experience compelled me to speak out. We are gathering evidence, including video footage and police records, to pursue this matter further.
We urge management to review camera footage and take accountability for their actions. This experience not only ruined our day but left the children shaken and the adults outraged. Camelback Tubing must address how they handle such incidents and treat their customers moving...
Read moreThis correspondence is addressed to the individual responsible for overseeing snow tubing operations at the resort. As we are currently in the midst of February break, it is reasonable to anticipate that the facility would be fully operational to accommodate the increased demand. Regrettably, this was not the case, as only one side of the park was open. This decision is particularly perplexing given that one side of the grounds features a smaller, less aggressive slope, while the other side boasts a larger decline and is consequently much faster. It is well-known among patrons, including my children, that one side is significantly faster than the other. As a result, the open “smaller” side experienced considerable congestion, with wait times exceeding 20-30 minutes. In contrast, when both sides are operational, wait times are typically no longer than 10 minutes. It is disappointing that guests are expected to pay the full admission price of $85 per person despite the reduced capacity. When visiting an attraction, it is reasonable to expect that all advertised amenities will be available. The manager's justification, which cited Six Flags' occasional closure of one or two rides, is unconvincing. Unlike Six Flags, which provides daily updates on ride closures, the snow tubing facility's decision to close an entire side of the mountain effectively halves the park's capacity. The managers' excuses lack merit, and their demeanor was unprofessional, he was aggressive and loud and not in control of himself. As someone with 40 years of management experience, including hotel efficiency director, cruise ships, and small business sectors, as well as ownership of my own restaurant for over 35 years, having had thousands of employees throughout the years, I possess a keen eye for operational inefficiencies. Upon observing the snow tubing facility's shortcomings, I was able to identify solutions before even reaching the top of the slope. If the General Manager or upper management would like to receive constructive feedback on rectifying these issues, I am willing to offer my expertise free of charge. Please respond to this message to initiate...
