I will start this review by explaining that we are not complaining about the weather/weather delay itself, we completely understand that camelback has no control of the weather and has safety protocols in place. However, we were horribly upset with how everything was handled before and after, the staff, the utter lack of urgency and lack of communication. We called last Saturday morning to buy tickets for the 4000ft zip line. We picked 12:30pm. The guy on the phone explained that our waivers to sign were emailed to us. We got the email but the link for the waivers was not working. So the guy on the phone explicitly stressed to us that we had to show up AT LEAST 30 minutes before our time slot to have ample time to sign the waivers in person. We ended up getting there at about 11:40 to be safe. It took all of 15 seconds to sign our name once at the bottom of a one page waiver on an iPad. We then had to stand around and wait. We were told to line up 12:20 which we did. While we were waiting the sky started getting dark and we felt raindrops. There was an old lady and a young girl working the zip line harness area. No body was saying if we were still going or not. The old lady was yapping for ten minutes about her grand baby’s birthday party with a coworker when we realized it was now 12:50 so past our original time slot and still no updates. So we asked “does anyone know what’s going on?” And she responded “OH, yeah I guess I should have let you know what’s going on haha, we’re waiting to see if the weather passes”. Super unprofessional. So we’re waiting. Finally she says we’re going and weighs us all and has us start suiting up, then says never mind the storm is coming. So we get undressed, and alas it started torrentially down pouring and we had to wait it out inside. After the storm passed it was beautiful and sunny out, but we were told the attractions were on hold for a half hour after the weather for safety reasons. Fine. But instead of having the staff preparing for things to get going in the mean time while we waited, they sent the entire staff on lunch. So now we had to wait around for their lunch break. They finally came back at 1:30, and then started getting prepared for the attractions to get going. When I say there was zero urgency I mean absolutely NONE. We were on their time even though we had been waiting since 11:40…. Finally at 2:00 they weighed us again and got us suited up and on the bus. We finally make it to the top, and are told we have to be weighed again (even though we were already weighed TWICE down at the bottom but fine). The scale isn’t working, and one of the guys working up there says “oops we left the scale out in the rain and it got water logged and isn’t working”…… so he calls someone at the base camp on the radio and explains this to him. Instead of just immediately sending a new scale up to keep things moving along, he starts trying to trouble shoot with the guy on the radio. “Have you tried unplugging it and plugging it back in?” “Did you try a new outlet?” “did you try resetting it?” This went on for almost 10 more minutes when the guy up top with us again reiterated the whole unit was water logged and wasn’t going to work regardless and FINALLY he said “okay I’ll send a new scale up”. That should have been solution number one point blank period, especially considering you’ve had paying guests waiting for hours. Another 15 minutes later the scale makes it up there and we are weighed and do the zip line. It was after 3pm when we got to the bottom of the mountain. An entire day wasted. By the slow incompetent staff, not the weather. No apologies for anything. Not once. Not one single we’re sorry for the inconvenience. They need to...

Read moreThe website stated 1 pm check in time for treetop adventure. At 12:15 we were turned away. We showed the website to the workers and the manager. Both blue shirt people said that the web site was wrong, and that we should have called to make reservations. We did call to make reservations, but we're told that it wasn't necessary. The blue shirt manager with the stretcher in his ear lobes said the call center people on top of the hill don't have the most accurate information.
Then again and again said we can sign up for anything we want EXCEPT for the reason that we came here to do.
My family and I came to "camel back" for the tree top adventure! What a major disappointment and let down after taking time off and traveling over an hour, to be told that the web site is wrong and the people on the phone don't know what they are talking about, but hey just because we're not going to let you do what you came here to do, have "Fun" doing anything else.
Thank you, for the life experience that life isn't always fair. God knows that I needed to be reminded of that!
Talk about "to big for your britches" or "right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing".
Never again can I take a friendly or causal attitude toward organizing a family outing.
Looks like I will have to make God damn sure to have verification in writing and signed by someone in authority who is accountable to follow through to deliver what is stated in future contracts.
Do I need to get a lawyer? Because I am NOT driving over an hour (each way) God help me if there is snow, to be told NO, the reason you too time out of life, (to visit our money extraction location) is not cared about, but since your here why don't ya give us more money to distract your kids so this isn't a total loss.
Sorry I trusted in you to make this a...
