I would leave a .0001 star review if it was an option. I went in today to buy a yard of black sparkle landscape rock, which they load into your truck bed with the loader. I did have a tarp for my bed, but the clerk at the counter nor the loader operator made any comment or warning about putting protection over my fenders to protect it from stray rocks. The loader operator started dumping the rocks into the truck bed on an angle, missed the bed partially and several rocks chipped my paint severely. He took no responsibility, did not apologize, and proceeded to point me to a pile of old landscape fabric to try to use to protect the bed.
It would be incredibly hard to believe that this is the first time in the companies history that this has happened, in fact im sure it happens every week, so I completely blame Nu Turf for not notifying their customers to protect their vehicle. Now in retrospect it seems obvious that you would want to have a drop towel or something similar protecting the fenders, but I am not a professional landscaper and I do not load yards of rock into my truck on any regular basis, so how was I to know. Nu Turf does this everyday and it infuriates me that there was no warning from any of the staff I interacted with.
We did find some towels in the truck we were able to use, but that was after the damage was done. After the rocks were loaded, the driver chuckled as he drove away and said something to the effect of "oh well now you know for next time."
There will be no next time Nu Turf. While I would highly advise anyone reading this to take their business elsewhere, if you are headed there for bulk rock, please protect your vehicle because Nu Turf will make no effort...
Read moreBeautiful plants!! If you are looking for healthy beautiful plants this place is it!! The prices are a bit questionable if your on a tight budget, but with the health and beauty of the products it would be easy to bust out of your budget. I walked around soaking up the wonderful environment. They have a small wind chine area that completely took me off guard and stole my breath when the wind blew. While walking around outside I found a different looking plant that was all by itself so I picked it up and explored the grounds with it. Workers were very pleasent. My only bad experience was when I went to check out with my little find. The pot had a price of $2.99 which I thought was a great price. Unfortunately the gentleman checking me out told me he could not sell it to me, and asked where I got it. I explained that it was towards the back by itself. He then explained that it must be one they are looking to propagate. Being a recent plant lover I completely understood and truly have no hard feelings, I just hope that in the future the propagation plants are kept separate and not so easily accessible or at the very least have a sign on them that says "Not for sale". All in all the place was a lovely experience on a...
Read moreBy far, Nu-Turf has the friendliest folks working there and a HUGE selection of plants, including Florida Natives like Coontie, Passiflora incarnata and Mimosa strigillosa. You can grab a cart and wheel it around yourself or hop in one of the golf carts with a staff member, like Eddie, who is wonderful, and he'll take you through the property, helping you with your selections. They have a terrific selection of herbs, vegetables, annuals, perennials, shade plants, butterfly plants, shrubs and trees including citrus, palm trees, magnolias. This morning when I arrived, I found sugar cane! Prices: Nu-Turf is not the cheapest place to go but not the most expensive either. If you can buy in volume, ask for a discount. Also, they have a couple books up at the counter so if you need to look something up and don't have your smart phone, you can. One drawback, and I do wish they would rectify this: they don't have the Genus species listing on most of their plants. For me, I...
