Better Together Animal Alliance Thrift Store — Attraction in Ponderay

The animal shelter thrift store is one of the best thrift stores I have been in, ever. It is clean. The goods are in first-class shape. They have a nice selection. More importantly, the people working there are really really nice. I love going in there to browse for all kinds of things. I'll admit, I'm cheap, and I buy most of my clothing and other things from the thrift stores even though I can afford much higher cost goods. But why spend more when you can get great things right there at the animal shelter thrift store in beautiful Ponderay?

The service at the thrift store is really good, too. The docents who are taking care of the products there do a great job of pricing them, getting them in the right shelves, and taking care of any questions...

Usually this is a nice place to shop with prices being reasonable & the employees kind. This previous Saturday, however, My Husband and 2 small children were shopping in the store and when my 3 year old started to to throw a fit (my husband took a toy away) He IMMEDIATELY took her out to the car. The door had no more swung shut behind him when a very rude young employee announced loudly "That gave me a headache, I Absolutely HATE screaming children"

That was MY child she said she hated. No one loves to hear a child yell, and that is why she was removed immediately from the store. There is no room for Hate in this world right now, especially against small children. We expect the employees to keep their sentiments to themselves...

The clerks generally ignore me when I walk through the door, although they seem to greet other customers with a welcome or by letting them know the color of the tag for the day which is discounted. Likewise, during checkout I am generally ignored, as was the case today until another clerk stepped behind the counter to help customers who were patiently waiting while the other clerk chatted with someone. I'm not sure if the employees are paid or volunteers, but they could use more training.

The benefits of shopping at the Panhandle Animal Shelter are good prices and that the proceeds go to the shelter. They've changed their name in the last month or so, but they still support...
