First time buying a gun from North 40 and it will be the last. First, I arrived and was completely ignored by Lucy while waiting at the counter for a while and she continued to walk past me and act like she didn’t see me looking around for someone to help. Finally, I asked her if I need to go to the front or if she could call someone to help me. She said she could in a minute. Eventually, she came over and I showed her what gun I wanted (I had a picture from a couple days prior that I was coming back to buy.) She looked for a second and said it must be gone then walked off without helping me look for another similar gun or ask if I wanted to see anything. Finally, an older gentleman came and helped me. I found another gun within minutes and we were going through the entire process. Lucy had to verify the information on the screen and made the comment about how this gun I purchased was completely different than what I was originally looking for… who cares? Finally, all the paperwork was done and it was time for me to pay. Tim “helped” me and while checking out I noticed the gun was $200 more than what the tag said. Tim went and grab the tag and then went in the back. He came back and told me theres nothing they will do and I can either buy the gun or leave (at this point I’ve been there for over an hour.) I asked to speak to a manager and all of a sudden they were able to give me it at the price that was listed. Tim was beyond disrespectful and was clearly frustrated for whatever reason. He was balling up his fists and taking deep breaths.. Then proceeding to laugh in a passive aggressive way. It was weird. I’m assuming because maybe he was the one that made the mistake of tagging the wrong price? I asked for the supervisor to check me out at this point because his behavior was concerning. Tim walked off and talked crap to another employee and then they both were just staring at me. The manager broke up their conversation and apologized for it.
The reason I’m giving two stars and not one is because all three of the managers that were involved were nothing but nice and they did make it right in the end. I do...
Read moreFirst time I came to the Ponderay North40 I was lost. I was a newer horse owner and quickly bonded with Blanche. She's so knowledgeable. Then I met a guy out by the fence and panels who went so far as to draw up a stall diagram and fenced area so I would know what I needed and how to do it. He is no longer in the yard but he was equally as impressive. My next friend that put a smile on my face was the lovely Tiffany. They should make her a manager. She left briefly but is now back in customer service. Then I met a couple other people that made my experience a pleasure. Every single time I go in this North 40 I spend $200 to $600 and that's about twice a month. Andrew is a great asset to N40. Customer service is something I value and appreciate. I was a beverage manager in a 5 star hotel and trained my team to treat each person as a guest and never think of them as a customer. N40 gets this. I always feel that I am their only guest everytime I go in there. Today was no exception. I had a problem and Andrew took great care of me. The employees do not think of us as a bother and I truly think they understand that N40 was not built for them but for us and that we actually sign their paychecks. It takes a special manager to hire and train all of their employees to treat the guests as guests and not as a customer. So my hats off to everybody from the young men who are always there to help me carry out all of my goodies right on up to the manager above Andrew. Great job in hiring at this N40. This is why I keep coming back and do not go elsewhere. Thank you all for making us all have a great experience every single time!!! Here's all my happy horses...they...
Read moreI came into North 40 in Ponderay frustrated beyond belief with a new chainsaw I had bought online (different retailer). I never experienced any issues with my other saw and was at a loss. I was greeted by Carsten in the power tool department who offered to take a look at my saw and help me out. I brought my saw in and he informed me that I had my chain way to tight which was causing my bar to heat up and start showing colors in the metal. He was very patient and spent a good deal of time filing my bar to remove burrs and even out the edges. He also showed me how to properly tension my chain to avoid issues in the future. I was dead set on buying a new bar despite his reassurance that my current bar should work just fine, but may not last as long because the heat had removed some of the temper from the metal. In the end I decided to buy a new bar and use my original as a back-up. I was very happy with the time Carsten spent helping and educating me. We parted ways with a handshake and a sincere "thank you." His customer service was second to none and I hope he gets the recognition he deserves for his efforts. I headed back into the woods and finished cutting up my firewood with an excellent performing saw and a huge smile on my...
